Because it's Nintendo. For Twilight Princess (I know it's also on GC, but I wanted the full experience). And because it was gonna have a Super Smash Bros. iteration.

Plus that motion control sounded better on paper than it actually is in reality.

Mario, Zelda, Metroid... the usual goodies that come with every Nintendo console.

Plus, Sonic Wild Fire was shown at the unveiling of the Wii, and it looked awesome (Lo and behold, I had a lot of fun with Secret Rings when it was released).

It was $250, and games were $50.

Motion controls looked like a lot of fun, and the graphical upgrade seen on the 360/PS3 wasn't a game maker/breaker for me.

Because it has great games and many more coming, because it was cheaper then the other consoles at the time.

VC is filled with goodnes.

And mostly because it was fresh, innovative and overall revived a gamer inside me. Motion controls FTW.

Oh and i Love Nintendo and had Pegasus (a cheap Eastern Euroepan Copy of NES) , N64, Gamecube

I decided to buy me a Wii a year ago because:

1) It was the less expensive one
2) The 360 was only about shooters which will end up in PC anyways
3) The ps3 was (by the time) more expensive that upgrading my PC
4) Graphics are not everything, but Nintendo games are beautifully designed
5) The controls are really something cool
6) I also wanted a social, healthy, family, social videogaming experience
7) It was seling well so, I thought, it will have a lot of third party support and lots good games (I don't know yet if I was wrong)

I wasn't a fanboy then, but maybe I am now.

I got the Wii because I like video games, and it has fun video games, and a fun way of playing them. I never understand why people ask these questions for any of the systems.   I mean, what do they expect.
