Forums - Gaming - Fallout 3 Review? More like a hate speach.

I know since 3 months that Fallout3 will not be the hit everybody was expected.

Next time, mark my word.

Good game but not AAA

Also, since you're so willing to take credit for predicting that the game is bad, as proof your opinions are correct, will you also take the heat, if the game scores AAA, that your opinions are generally full of crap?

You can't have it both ways my friends. If this game doesn't score AAA, I lose nothing, if it does, I'll be marking your words for a different reason.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

I would so take this bet against you. I can see Zen is already going to feed you a plate full of crow once reviews come in, so i'll just let him do the work of remembering.

What kind of hit are you thinking it'll be?

Fallout 3 will easily sell 3 million copies between X360/PS3, and could hit 4m.

Fallout 3 will also garner 90%+ reviews ala Oblivion.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

If he didn't talk about the screenshot thing I could take it a bit more seriously.

anyway, the repeated buildings sound a lot like Mass Effect...

the words above were backed by NUCLEAR WEAPONS!

Keep in mind the reviewer did say unaccptable play conditions. Whatever that entails.

While I'm sure actaull reviews will favour better, I get a feeling that this will not be a AAA game. I keep on saying it. Fallout is not Oblivion and cramming Fallout into Oblivion template won't work. The Oblivion engine is another matter, but require a serious re working.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

That entails this: (Read the bold)

"This article is not a test. Just an "introduction for things to come". Why? Because the conditions under which I had to play this "RPG" were not acceptable: sixteen hours in a row in a luxurious hotel..."

I suppose it would have been more acceptable if in addition, naked women were fanning him with peacock feathers and feeding him grapes while playing.

If I were predicting, I would agree with you. However, if I'm right, I won't jump back on these forums talking about how everyone should believe my guesses from now on, like that other guy.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

The game looks like crap, has poor animations and even worse looking and sounding weapons. The gameplay has zero good things about it, the levels look dull and boring. I was looking forward to this game before e3, but after its brutal showing and even worse videos since i have no idea how people could think this game is anything but garbage. Its like the Assassins creed of this Holiday season, people will buy the game in droves, and live to hate every moment of it.

My main concerns with the game:

1. The VAT system is a bit funky for the Xbox 360/PS3 controller. It can be difficult to select the correct target. It also has issues with the interface in PIP boy being a little finnicky until you get used to it, especially the map screen. Also the local map interface leaves a lot to be desired in terms of finding your way around.
Easy as hell. I can't really understand what you're talking about, And yeah, the pip boy is a little annoying but nothing like the atrocious Oblivion menu
2. The stealth/sneak implementation is taken straight from Oblivion and it doesn't quite capture the magic of the original Fallouts stealth. It only has a "detected" and "Not detected" level and I wish there was more information regarding how well my stealth was holding up etc.

3. I wasn't happy with how the Hand 2 hand was implemented, it felt clunky and it made anyone who decided to go that route from the start vulnerable (From about half an hour of use, though im not 100% convinced that everyone will see problems with this part of the game as I hate hand 2 hand personally and there lies my bias.

4. The opening stages of the game had me lost and thats pretty unacceptable. The escape from the vault quest was badly implemented. I ran around for half an hour unable to find my way. This also relates back to the local map issue. (A door opened in a room when I was in it, but since I was looking another way I didn't notice and moved on.)

Hah? You mean inside the vault?

In other news, yeah, the guy of the preview seems a little upset. I don't really know what Bethesda let him or let him not do or publish but the guy played the game (and ruined his gaming experience) becauase all he wanted to see is the negative parts. And you know what? That's pretty fuckin easy for a game like Fallout. Is not the freakin Kane and Lynch or the new Bond game. It is Fallout 3. And tryin' to be on par with the "previewer", yes I have pages to fill with the shit from Oblivion. But I played the goddamn game for 150 straight hours FFS!!!

The guy even complains about the collours. What should the colours be in a POST NUCLEAR WASTELAND YOU DUMBASS.

And last but not least:

Did anyone of you know this guy? Well, now you know him...
