Forums - Nintendo - Wii Boxing Games

I love boxing - still play it regularly for a workout!

Baseball I play the least.

Bowling > Golf > Tennis > Boxing > Baseball IMO :)

The 100-pin bowling minigame also rocks.

Wii boxing was the worst of the games on Wii sports, I almost never played it I hated it so much.

Here's my order of Wii Sports:

Tennis>Baseball>Golf>Bowling>Boxing

I really want EA to bring Fight Night to Wii and make it work well and I expect them to, I mean this is EA they should port their game to every known gaming device on the planet.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

Wii Boxing is by far the worst in Wii Sports. It's totally unplayable. But a good boxing game for the Wii is hopefully on the way. I hear Fight Night is coming though probably not until next year. Please Nintendo, bring Punch-Out to the Wii.

WII boxing makes a lot of fun and is a good workout. But the controls are... lets say just not intuitive. It is way more "press button x" style than the other ones. After you figured the game out, it makes fun. It's just not like tennis and bowling.

Intuitively of the controls in WII Sports (for me)

Tennis, Bowling, Baseball, Golf, Boxing

Fun:

Boxing, Tennis, Bowling, Baseball, Golf

Most Played:

Tennis, Boxing, Baseball, Bowling, Golf

i've already agreed that wii boxing is utterly terrible, but this is why.

boxing is the hardest of the 5 to implement well. simply trying to recognize a set of gestures would not be good enough, since different individuals have different physical tendencies. the game would need to have a learning engine for motion recognition, or simpler just some calibration to your movements before you actually play the game. i.e. instead of you figuring out the gestures, the machine figures out your tendencies.

it shouldn't be too difficult to implement. takes a little bit of research but it's a well-researched topic and good developers should be able to do it no problem. but you do need a little bit of effort. you can now understand why wii boxing is so terrible--the other games have gestures that are very clear cut, and nintendo didn't bother putting in something even a little bit more sophisticated for boxing.

maybe EA will do it. they have so many sports games that they probably should develop an engine for motion recognition anyway.

the Wii is an epidemic.

Bowling>Tennis>Golf>Baseball>Boxing.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Multiplayer:

Tennis>Bowling>Golf>Baseball>Boxing

Singleplayer:

Bowling>Tennis>Golf>Baseball>Boxing

Looking at others play:

Boxing>Golf>Baseball>Tennis>Bowling

oh and on topic: yes a nice boxing game (that can be played for more than 15 min. without cramps) would be sweet

Well EA did say that Nintendo made the Wii just for Fight Night. Haven't heard much about it though.

Off-topic: Tennis>Bowling>Baseball>Boxing>Golf

I like where this thread is headed, lol.
