Forums - Gaming Discussion - I have a decision to make - Disaster or Fable2?

Yeah Fable 2 looks like it's a no brainer... Disaster probably could wait for a price cut before a purchase or a rental

I'm in a similar situation man but i gotta choose two out of three between disaster, deadspace and fable 2. If i were you i'd download the original fable off xbox live and see what you think to it before you make a decision, fable was a very marmite game (i adored the original, re-brought an x360 for fable 2).

thats an idea - it's available totally forgot it's available on the xbox originals.  might do that tonight.

Ehm try Lost Odyssee, Vesperia or Oblivion. I know the first 2 are more traditional RPG's, but definitely worth trying.

Personlly I found Fable 1 to be a letdown and from what I've heard 2 won't be without its flaws.

Don't know about Disaster, I'll probably buy it and maybe review it for the site.

See i have a stigam where a RPG is mentioned I switch off - tried KOTOR ages ago on the xbox and hated it due to it's turn based fighting.  Is LO like this?

Fable II hands down.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Yes, LO is turn based. Vesperia is real time (however still in seperate battle screens). I understand your concerns, but the (imo) deepest games (both story and gameplay) are often traditional (S & J)RPG's. But if KOTOR is not your thing, you might not want to take the risk.

As far as story goes, I can already tell you that LO, BD and ToV will destroy Fable 2, cause that's more based on the "gimmicky" choose who you become system (which you can probably tell I don't like).

Fable 2 will keep you busy a lot longer so I would go for that one

How can you possibly misspell QWERTY? It's spelled correctly on the damn keyboard.

Fable 2 looks amazing, its a must have 360 game.

Consoles Owned: XBOX 360, Wii, DS and PSP.

I am a big Wii suporter but i would choose Fable II, disaster hopefully turns out to be good, but Fable II is shaping to be a great epic rpg.

"Deepest story and gameplay" probably depends on your point of view.  WRPGs aren't meant to be movies, they're meant to allow the player to become a part of the story.  I love to read novels, but I like being able to live out my own fantasy story even more.

What do you mean by "destroy"?  Better sales?  I seriously doubt it.

It's pretty obvious you don't like being able to live out your own fantasy in an RPG, if for no other reason than you refer to the approach as "gimmicky".  You could say the same thing about Oblivion, most MMORPGs, or many of the Sims games, as well.  But millions of people like them, so I don't believe "gimmicky" is correct.  Even SecondLife, which isn't a game, has a very large following.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I cannot think of a Wii game this year that you should buy over Fable II.
