Interesting statement. Of course, this far in to to the sales of Metal Gear 4, it would kind be kind of like the Xbox release of Grand Theft Auto. A "me too" release with significantly less sales.

It would sell to 360 owners that wished they'd recieved Metal Gear, but not to too many others.

so basically just like Bioshock, Lost Planet or oblivion for PS3?

All on PC as well.

As for "other gamers deserve to play MGS as well", other gamers like me deserve Tales of Vesperia, Star Ocean, and Gears of War. I deserve it too.

"That's not what I seem to be seeing from this thread. PS3 owners and fans seem to be saying the game is impossible on 360 and it is clear that if it does eventually come out on 360 they throw a massive fit."

I'm not saying it is impossible for the 360 to have these games. I am saying it is impossible for these games to have blu-ray quality sound and visuals when the 360 doesn't have blu-ray for gaming thus the PS3 versions will be better.

You do realize that there is no inherent reason that blu-ray will look superior, at least on a console. If mediums generated the quality of a lot of things Crysis would be a run of the mill PC game.

Just sayin'

"I'm calling it now... Kojima's next major project will be multiplatform."

I don't think that Kojima would want to begin to make a game that would be inferior to MGS4 which would be the case if they decided to make his next game multiplatform at launch due to the the limitations that would be brought to the game by the 360's hardware. The 360 is just not designed to be a masterful system for the development of long cinematic games. That is why a game like Gears of War can look good and be a great shooter but at the end of the day, it just doesn't have the length or diversity of play mechanics that you find in a game like Uncharted. Is that also why as some point out GTA IV is limited in some ways in comparison to other GTA games in the amount of things that you have available to do in the game? If GTA IV had been developed exclusively for the PS3, then there is the potential to do many more things of these things that some say you could do in San Andreas but not in IV as there is so much more space available on a blu-ray disc than there is on the 360's dvd 9s.

So, Kojima would have only a couple of choices if he was to make his next project multiplatform from the start. He could do so and begin development of the game on the 360, yet have to make a game lacking in gameplay depth in comparison to MGS4 much as GTA IV is limited in options to past GTA games and as Gears of War is limited in the amount of things that you can do in the game in comparison to Uncharted and not have the game be as attractive as MGS4 since it probably wouldn't be developed in such a way as to take advantage of all of the strengths of blu-ray and the PS3. Or he could do much as Square is doing with FFXIII. He could make the game with all of the PS3 and blu-ray formats strengths in mind and keep it PS3 only in Japan to ensure that it has a timely release in at least one region, then port it down to an inferior version for the 360 in the West. Or he could do as with MGS IV make the game for the PS3 exclusively at the beginning release the game in all regions, then after its excitement has died down, release the inferior 360 version to the West however such a release for the 360 multiplatform version of his next game would put it close to three years in the future which would surely be quite a time after the Microsoft's next console has been released ontop the market.

My most anticipated games:  Whatever Hideo Kojima is going to do next, Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Gran Turismo 5, Alan Wake, Wii Sports Resort.  Cave Story Wiiware.

i hope they dont do iy but if they do i dont give a shit cuz mgs4 was damn great but now its like an old game ffor me like biochock

"MGS4 for 360 confirmed.....lol....XD!"

If so, then get ready for MGS4 the 2600 version on the 360. But just remember that us PS3 owners have MGS4 the Colecovision version, and it really will be a comparable difference to Donkey Kong 2600 and Donkey Kong Colecovision. Some people back in the day didn't want to spend money for the system capable of playing the real game, but for those of us that had both a Coleco and a 2600, we really had no question about which version of DK was the superior one.

*Sigh* The 360 will be capable of running MGS4 the exact same as the PS3. The only issue is Disc space. Say hello to 4 discs. Thats it. Plenty of games Ive seen on 360 show that it can handle MGS4 graphics. The industry is split 50.50 with whats more powerful PS3 or 360, there is no fact to prove one or the other. So it will always only be opinion. Plenty of dvs comments to say that PS3 is more powerful and plenty of devs comments to say 360 is more powerful. So that arguement is circumstancial.

"Whatever fanboys say, videogaming is business, not religion"

That is why it aggravates me when Wii fans say their system's sales is justified by its game library when the vast majority of its games have sub 8.5 review scores and the 360 fans say their system has so many great games when the number of great games on their system is vastly lower than the number that were on the PS2 after it had been on the market a comparable amount of time and when they try to say that games like Too Human, Infinite Undiscovery, The Lost Odyssey, Ninja Gaiden II, and Tales of Vesperia are great when they only have Metacritic scores of 66, 69, 78, 81, and 81 respectively. These aren't 8.5 and above games folks.

Wooww don't mix everything.

What I mean is, that if (IF!) Konami can't make enough money out of the PS3, there is no reason not to go multiplateform.

Same thing for other editors.

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

"*Sigh* The 360 will be capable of running MGS4 the exact same as the PS3"

Anyone that things MGS 4's audio and video particularly during the cinematic moments would be just as good on the 360 as they are on PS3 doesn't know what they're talking about or is trying to put forth a statement that is patently false. Everyone knows that the audio and video has to be compressed to get it onto the 360 just as with FFXIII which will again be an inferior port. This kind of claim is the same thing as saying that pixel for pixel The Dark Knight will be the same quality on dvd as on blu-ray.
