People are grossly exegarating GoW sales potential , 3 Million first week ? Hah I'd join MDF if it did that much.

i agree gears 2 preorders should be higher than gears 1, i predict gears 2 to sell the most software this xmas, but i dont think it will be a system seller as much.

So if GoW2 is going to be this big it has a good chance of outselling R2 and LBP combined! Good Job Gears 2!!!

The advantage Gears has is that it was/is more popular than Halo outside of the USA in terms of ratio of owners - Halo has and ways always an American-centric game. Whereas JP and EU prefer TPS-driven games, which Gears is.

 So it'll sell the most software yet not move hardware? Weird.

It's that kind of crazy, messed up logic that has never made sense. Anti-X360 fans said the same thing about Halo 3 "Everyone that wanted Halo 3 already owns a X360 because of Gears of War". Yeah. That worked out great when the X360 passed the Wii worldwide, right?

It won't move a TON of hardware for the # of software units sold...Not in the ratio of Halo 3 due to diminishing returns. However, it's still going to move a ton of hardware, which is great because Fable 2, Banjo Kazooie and then Gears will too :)

Of course. It's the law of diminishing returns - The same reason FFXII moved less hardware in Japan than FFVIII, VII, or IX did.

But having said that, it's still going to move a ton of hardware, since it's going to be a game that will draw in new X360 owners since it's exclusive - Unlike CoD4.
