Forums - PC - Starcraft II campaign split into 3 separate SKU's!

This just applies to campaigns I guess. I don't think they would be that dumb to make a game like that.

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

That's what I thought too, then if you read the interview there's this part that states this, and my respect for Blizzard has been cut in half:

"Each new single player campaign will come with upgrades and changes to the multiplayer"

Then I don't really know what to say :S

It may be a special MP mode for each version, along with the main one. I just don't know.

And confirmed here that you will in fact have to buy the game 3 times if you want to play all three campaigns.

To put it simply: this is bullshit.  Fuck Blizzard.

I'm sure they could sell each one for $15-20 but I have the funny feeling the first one is going to be sold for $40-50 and then next two 'expansions' will be $15-20 each.

It's like they want people to pirate their game.

Are you an idiot? Think, each campaign will be as big or bigger than SC1's AND factoring how Blizzard is pushing the story-telling in the RTS genre, with adventure and RPG likeness AND non-linearity you will have a campaign that will totally crap on "shitty" stories like Gears of War and Halo 3.

And each of the campaigns will be seperate of each other, it won't ruin your single-player experience or leave it cliff hanging. So tell me, how is changing from 3 small campaigns to 1 Big campaign (as big as all 3) that not only has several innovations like non-linearity, adventure elements and a RPG parts that will help the progression and a far better replay value, be a bad change?

Hey, how about that Halo 3: Recon ehh?? It is going to have a campaign as "awesome" as Halo 3's??? lol

wow. seems like someones got some angst here.

expansion packs. Real expansion packs. Like the frozen throne. concider them similar. They wont all be out at once. 2 will come later and both add new units etc.

ok I get the Half life/ Sam and Max episodes thing.. but this... is just stupid!!! WTF.... Wanna bet you can actually play all the sides in Multiplayer so you are paying for some maps and movies? and I also hope this doesn't mean I have to install it 3 x 10gig per campaign...

Tell me, when each of SC2's campaign will probably be bigger than an entire Sam & Max Season or HL2+Ep1+Ep2 means it's a bad thing? Infact, you would have a better value for your money for the singleplayer AND whatever they add for the multiplayer.

And Ofcourse you can play all sides in the multiplayer, and even in the singleplayer in some of the singleplayer modes. What the hell is wrong with you.

I looked all over my house for my original Starcraft disc ... gah I should just go buy another one. AGAIN. I'll prolly get the battle chest should be like 15 bucks at target.

And thinking about this a little more, I'm somewhat convinced they will be more than $60 combined.

If all three products were that $15-20 price mark, they would tell us. Why would they let us speculate and get all pissed off at them if they weren't? I've seen firsthand that bad rumors get heard and payed much more attention than good ones and just cause confusion.

People are going to hear only that you have to buy the game three separate times. They aren't going to hear you have to buy it three times if you only want to play the three separate campaigns and they aren't going to hear that each pack will be $15-20 if that's announced later.

My guess is $29 each and a Starcraft II battlechest version for $80....

Yeah, but the article almost makes it sound like they aren't going to come out at the same time.

That's because they aren't. The other 2 campaigns will probably be coming in the form of expansions, standalone or not.

What the hell blizzard??

I've never been so tempted to pirate one of Blizzard's games.

This is absolutely ridiculous, unless they charge <$20 for each of them.

When each of SC2's campaigns will be bigger than the entire Halo series is bad, the world must be crazy.
