 That's stupid logic. Really. That's like saying "All Latinos smells like garbage. They're lazy and kill people. If you respond to this, it means it's true and you can't deny it. Bow to me." There's no grain of truth at all to either statement. Just because you want it to be, doesn't make it so. 

Can we implement an ignore feature on this site? 

Note: I am Latino, so for the sake of not offending anyone I used that example.

The fact that people react to a troll post doesn't suddenly make it valuable. If you dont think the Wii will outsell the PS2, good! I'm glad thats your opinion, you'll notice that there are other people who share it. But your post is trollish plain and simple. As is your posting under the weekly American numbers "The wii is a fade, its a crap system, and anyone who buys it should burn in hell, If the site counted the sales on XBL and PSN their sales would crush wii play and wii sports. " This is your warning PS3owner.

Can the wii be the best selling piece of hardware? Or is it already the best selling piece of hardware is the question ; ), the wii is the best selling piece of any electronic out there this day.

"The wii will never pass the total sales of the PS2 or the PS1."

and then gave his opinion why
"The wii is a joke to the gaming world, its a fade and nothing else."

regardless of how poorly stated that opinion was, it is still a defense for his answer.

Thanks to all that answered. I did mention that sales would have to remain at this level to acheive my point, and good point shams, I didn't factor in the lifespan. PS2 is definately going to be a 10yr+ machine. I don't think the Wii will. I am betting on 6-7 years.

Given that, the Wii would really need to keep the momentum high to outsell the PS2/DS in the end.

It's perfectly fine to say the Wii won't reach PS1 or 2 levels...I don't know what my stance on this topic is...but stating the Wii is a joke, it's fad, etc is pointless...he's just out to aggravate people.

If I said the Wii could pass PS2 levels...I don't say "Wii will pass PS2 sales, because PS2 was crap and was a worthless console." It just...doesn't make sense to even say stuff like that...

If the Wii is made to last, it won't outsell the PS2. Enough people rebought the PS2 to replace a broken system when the slim was released. Aside from the NES, I've never experiences issues with Nintendo systems dying on me so only time will tell in that respect.
On the other hand, I think the Wii could fair well by a year or two from now releasing a $300 version with a larger flash drive (as in like.. 10gb if they're larger by then) while lowering the price of the current system to $200 and tossing in Wii Play as an extra game. I know I'd love to have a larger hardrive as I fear I'll be out of room a few months from now and I don't really want to start deleting games and having to redownload them when I feel like playing it again at some point.
Toss in something like DVD playback that for some reason people feel the need to point out the Wii is lacking.

The only problem then is the lack of games like GTA or GT which were sadly the biggest sellers last generation.

The Wii will have to sell at it's current rate for the next 9 years to pass the PS2.

The Wii could be the best-selling system WW if Nintendo produced enough of them.

Sales are pretty much in line with the PS2 right now. And much like the PS2, it'll see higher sales later in it's life. As more AAA games come out, more market expanding games come out (Wii Fit), and yes, even an eventual price drop, I think it's quite possible for the Wii to sell more than the PS2.
