Sales are pretty much in line with the PS2 right now. And much like the PS2, it'll see higher sales later in it's life. As more AAA games come out, more market expanding games come out (Wii Fit), and yes, even an eventual price drop, I think it's quite possible for the Wii to sell more than the PS2.
Of course I don't think it will capture the same percentage of the marketshare as the PS2 did, on account of it having stronger competition than the the PS2 had. also, with the fragmentation of what the different consoles offer, we're much more likely to see people owning more than one (a Wii and a PS3/360), causing a certain leveling out of the playing field.
