Forums - General - NHL: Thread for the 2008-2009 Season

Wow. My Blackhawks are actually doing really well. I try to not get my hopes up but they are on a bit of a roll. I was just hoping that they could sneak into the playoffs this year. It looks like they could maybe put together a bit of a playoff run. I know that they're probably not going to win the Stanley Cup this year but this is the first time in a long time that I have been excited about them.

So who here thinks that San Jose will break the record for Wins this year?

I think they will, they are unstoppable!

They'll have to win at least 35 of their remaining 46 games so that's at least a 76% win record from here on out. Seems like a tall order for any team but if anyone can do it it's the 2008/2009 San Jose Sharks. They currently have a 77.7% win record.

And Boston's only 1 win behind them...........Go Lucic and company!

Yeah this year definatly seems to be a battle of Titans.

San Jose was a bit of a creeper what with all the attention WAS, PIT and MTL recieved before the start of the season.

I just hope PHI doesn't finish strong.

Here's hoping that the Canucks help with that tonight.

Well PIT loses another one. Damn 3-7 in the last 10. I am at a loss for words.
Another scoreless game for Malkin and Crosby.

i'm hoping my Sharks will find their groove soon & start playin like they were earlier in the season. They've been winning games recently but could have easily lost some of their past few games (like the Dallas game, Sharks were outworked for a lot of the game). Hopefully this success spills over into the 2nd round when the playoffs start.

Oh well, those Philthy Flyers. I thought it was pretty funny last night after the first period. Scott Hartnell was mouthing off to someone (I forget who) and then he got to the puck and threw it over the glass to the little girl in the front row and then turned right back around and started mouthing off some more. haha.

Yeah, that was a pretty funny moment.

I guess Schneider's going to be sent back down to the farm, since we picked up Labarbera........and only for a 7th rounder. That surprises me, since LA tried to develop him for so long. They probably coulda got a 4th rounder at least from anyone else.

Think the Kings kinda have a log-jam of goalies at the moment so they are probably trying to get rid of one & they got something out of it. Bit suprising it is Labarbera for the same reasons though, prolly could have given up another goalie for the same return. Doubtfull that Labarbera is gonna see much action in Vancouver since when Luongo comes back the Nucks will have 2 better goalies as back-ups
