Japan: 5.94 Million
America: 7.2 Million
Others: 4.86 Million

This seems to be very close to what we'll see on VGChartz at the end of the year for the Wii.

Nintendo projected they'd ship 14 million units this fiscal year, so they should really be able to produce at least that. That alone would mean 20 million by March, or some 18 million by December, if they continue to sell.

"With Wii shipments increasing in the lead up to the holiday season and a number of big releases" it definitely stands a chance of selling more than that, not less.

That's why I think for end of the year:

17m - low end

18m - realistic

20m - high end

Your sig seems to be a little hard to pull off for the year.  If my calculations are correct and 18 Million is the realistic number then the 360 will have to sell less then 700k in the U.S. to the end of this year which is REALLY LOW...

yeah unfortunately you're gonna be wrong. 360 sold 1.1 million in December last year alone, and that was without Halo. They're at least entitled to similar holiday sales as last year, and with a price cut it could be higher.

if MS gives the 360 a realy good price cut, (200$ for core + memory card) and Halo3 does as expected they might have a really good Christmas.....how about a Wii360 bundle for 400$ that would move some systems :)

I just buried this on digg.

Submitting stuff there is a good way to get free publicity, but do we really want to throw everything we have at them? Important milestones and news are cool, but console A being only 1M units behind console B? I think we should wait a few more weeks for the Wii to take the lead, and then submit something about it.

I've seen too many sites get effectively banned from digg by fed up users starting a burying campaign to think this is a good idea.

Slightly off topic but...

Is anyone else upset that they didn't invest in Nintendo years ago? I was too young to do that then, and now (and I actually wanted to, even if it was only the inner fanboy making me do so) the stock is too high.

It couldn't possibly get any higher... could it?

Yep, i am pretty upset about it.

In last year day after they announced Wii-mote, i thought that i need to buy some Big N stocks, and of course i forgot to do that :(



Nothing's cheaper than something free.
