This Destructoid impressions article of Dead Rising CTYD has a cool piece of news.
That means even the current trailer isn't of the new build.
I am cautiously optimistic about this game. The 360 controls really left a lot to be desired. But I'm still waiting and seeing.
Some things to note are that removing zombie limbs aren't in the current build, you also can't jump, but that could also be just in this build. It does look as though some smaller weapons won't be used at all, but I personally found throwing CDs to be a gimmick. As long as you can pick up benches and stools, I'm good. I know the former can be used, but I will be annoyed if you can't pick up chairs and stools. We do know that plastic heads are still usable, from the Nintendo summit video.
Finally, Nick wrote that "the zombie hordes were noticeably thinner in this early build of the title," but he did not state this made it so sparse it was a cakewalk, that some of you claimed would happen. In the pictures of the article, a couple shots looks sparse, but others show plenty, with the impression that they are all around you. Really hoping they get this right.
Despite what some claim, this is not defending the game. This is telling you all to wait and see, so that if it does actually suck, our complaints won't look like fanboy whining. Let's give the development team no excuses, people.
As for MadWorld, it seems that there are no plans to release in Japan, Germany, and Australia, due to strict ratings there, and the latter two likely to not allow any classification at all.
Also, Platinum is still working on the controls, and apparenly won't have a playable build until they feel they get it right. Nice to see they aren't just slapping the controls on. But then again, that's been happening far less with Wii games anyway, save for the party games.
Wondering if they'll incorporate Motion+, but there was not indication of that in the article. That was just me hoping.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
