RE4 didn't have jumping either. It could be in the final game, but if it isn't, you'll still be able to climb things, like in RE4.
EDIT: Or it should. I would be pissed if they completely dropped a way to move to higher ground without stairs.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
