Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Tomb RaiderUW: X360 exclusive DLC

It's not really an unusual choice, this game will sell like TFU did.

This would be great if the Tomb Raider franchise was still as big as it was back in the mid to late 90's. But now it is not as popular as it used to be. But having new download content is good for fans of the game that own a Xbox 360. Congratulations to them.

If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba

The game looks god awful, an unusual choice by Microsoft.

Laughable.

It follows in the footsteps of the rebirth of the Tomb Raider franchise, which started when Legend came out. The Tomb Raider franchise (post Angel of Darkness) has been far better than it has been in YEARS, and is an awesome gaming experience.

Why did MS do this? Europe. Tomb Raider is still very large there, and Legends did very well there - As it was the top game in the UK for 3 weeks straight. Legends also sold 3 million copies, which is a pretty big amount.

At any rate, this is good news for both TR fans and X360 owners. My girlfriend is going to be really really happy with this news. TR:U has always been day-1, but this cements it more.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

i see no reason for any dl content on either version, its not a system seller, and judging from its last game it was poor, did anyone see the bike sections? they were worse than xbox 1 grafix.

i hope the new game is good as i like these types of games, but imo the dl content has no significance to either console.

i dont expect good sales according to title legacy.

i say 600k LT for 360 and 400k LT for ps3

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

tomb raider is not the force it once was, how much did microsoft pay for the dlc?

Heh. She's been a big fan of Tomb Raider since she got a PS1 many many years ago. She owns every single Tomb Raider. For our first anniversary, I got her one of those lifesized standup posters of Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft :-p

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Tomb Raider did get a bit stale but Legend was awesome and it made me remember how much fun I had on the PS1 with the old Tomb Raider games.

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

I personally found TR: Legend to be distinctly average. Certainly not  "an awesome gaming experience...".

An 80 on Metacritic with a 5.2 average user rating shows that plenty of gamers weren't that impressed either.

That 3 million figure is taking into account it was released on: PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360, PC, GC, PSP, DS, GBA and Mobile.

3 million in sales across 9 platforms.

They're probably trying to entice more PS2 gamers to their system with the move, but I simply feel that gamers (especially casuals) aren't really swayed by DLC offered down the line. Not many seem to even know about it. (A friend of mine who owns the 360 version of GTAV didn't even know there was going to be DLC for GTAV, and look at how much attention that was given!).

If MS are adamant about getting the TR crowd onto the 360, I think the money might have been better spent on a strong advertising push for the game in Europe with a 360 logo flashing at the end of every commercial. (Although they might still go ahead and do that...). Also, with a myriad of other big third party games coming out this holiday season, was TR the best choice to drop money on?
