Forums - Sony - why so much hate on Sony

yea maybe it wont because its lost alot and I mean ALOT of exclusive game support. I really commend microsoft to actually being a threat to sony (which I thought wouldnt happen) like actually being relevent in japan of all places. Im not trying to diss the ps3 I think its a phenomenal piece of equipment  but its such a hassle to develope for.Sony should help developers understand their system like microsoft did. They cram their system with stuff and expect developers to move along with it because their "sony" and they think they decide how the industry should move. I mean look whats happened multiple ps3 games are going to the 360 , and 360 is getting the love of developers in japan, all cuz of sonys arrogance

Why hate them? I have a PS3 and love it, but I'm very will to admit that the people at Sony were just huge throbbing dicks this gen, and made on enormous mistake after enough, and still managed to act like cocky dicks while doing it. And now they are getting their ass pounded by the two companies they dominated previously. Thus the hate.

It's like the big bully at school, that's also rich, and a huge dick bag (that's a bag of dicks if you don't know), and then their family goes bankrupt and he has his legs broken, and falls in a puddle of mud and can't get out and all his dicks fell out of his bag and are all over the place, and he's still talking about how incrediblely awesome he is in comparison to your pathetic single dick selves. Of course the other kids are gonna go step on his dicks, and kick him a few times you would too.

This proves once and for all that if you can't be funny, then just say dick 1000 times.  The kids love it.

The software sales for the PSP in Europe are absolutely undertracked.Probably the situation in Uk is very bad and the piracy is absolutely destroying the system ,but for what I have seen in other countries the PSP sells software all the same. Its a machine that is slowly reducing its shelves space in the face of the big succes of DS ,PS3 and Wii but it keeps its own and you can easily see that the games shipments eventually sell out after some time and without having to put them in the bargain bin.

Gebx ,the difference here is that MS bought two temporal exclusives with ES, Lost Planet ,and with Bioshock. So it was expected that the games would come eventually to the PS3 later when the terms of the contract expired. The games were announced as exclusives and were so for a time. The companies respected their contract. The problem with FFXIII is that it was secured as exclusive by Sony with an agreement with Square ,it was announced as such ...and MS pushed and pushed until Square broke the contract with Sony (probably MS taking care of the breaking indemnization).I am pretty sure it didnt push with beautiful words.

Nah, jking! I dislike Sony because of their arrogance when launching the PS3. For that, they deserve to be taken down several pegs this generation. Fuckers.

Sega killed Sega.  Get over it!

 Sega killed Sega?

Sony's Financial muscle Killed Sega........ Sega made mistakes yes but they didn't have anywhere near the same kind of money that Sony has..........  Therefore once Sony took over the damn advertising world (you know, billboards, t.v. commercials, sponsorships like the champions league ect) Sega due to lack of funds would have died out no matter what they did or how good thier games were/are

Sony have made mistakes but its swept under the carpet because they have so much damn money thier mistakes can always be rectified

When the PS1 came out how many of its 1st top games were actually made by Sony? Tekken was one of the games that really helped Sony get a strong foothold in the gaming world but it was made by Namco not Sony

Another game that was a success for sony was Crash bandicoot (Again not made by Sony but Sony advertised the hell out of the game)

How about when Sony started to branch out with other genres like gun games like time crisis (A game made by namco of course) Sony in the beginning got to where they were because they were buying 3rd party exclusives left, right and centre

Segas own in house teams like AM2 are the only reason that Sega didn't die out sooner than they actually did.....

So no, Sega did not kill Sega.......... Sony killed Sega

That's business!  If Sega had not put out two consecutive pieces of crap and pissed off all of there dev's, maybe they could have had some revenue to put into marketing.  Sony has made mistakes just like every company on the planet.  The difference is they do enough things right to correct mistakes.  This is what successfull companies do.

So I guess you should hate Namco and all the other 3rd party dev's for not supporing SEGA.  Dev' don't really care about who they make games for, they care about money.  Sega cost a lot of dev's a lot of money by quikly releasing multiple consoles.  Why would they want to dump more money into a new console when they haven't recouped any of there money from the last one.  Not to mention the dev's probably had little faith in the Dreamcast considering the previous two were junk.

Again, Sega killed Sega with poor business decisions.

I have to agree, Sega killed Sega. The Sega CD, Sega 32X, the Sega Saturn who's lifecycle they ended very prematurely and abruptly. They were even worse to developers than Nintendo, but through incompetence rather than greed. They left their own fans constantly bewildered and confused. Sega was unpredictable and hardware happy. If they weren't releasing unsupported add ons to their systems they were outright abandoning them in the case of the saturn anyway. The Dreamcast was the first good thing they had done in a long time and by then nobody wanted to play with them when they could just go with the easy to work with and stable Sony, Predictable safe albeit increasingly irrelevant Nintendo, or the new rich kid on the block Microsoft who was trying to get their foot in the door.

Sega screwed themself over and over and over again, it wasn't anybody's fault they died but their own.

This is a very powerful picture you're painting, but do you have proof to back this up?

Good choice of words.......... Thats business........... Yeah, your right, It is a business (or should i say it became a business once the "Corporation" aka sony arrived)

So who exactly did Sega p*ss off as you so mildly put it?

Sony were buying exclusives and sweetening up 3rd party developers left right and centre with their fat wallets...

How did you expect Sega to compete when they simply did not have the funds that Sony have?

Nintendo and Sega are gaming Hardware and software LEGENDS

When the history books are written the same wont be said about Sony and thier big fat wallets that bought thier success in the gaming world.................

And in reference to you saying sony "do enough" when they make mistakes............. Well of course they do...... Money talks

Somthing Sega were lacking (money)

So why do you suppose Sega lacked money to begin with? Maybe because they sucked at making consoles? Sony didn't pick their pockets leaving them broke, they broke their own bank.
