So you're saying you will never go online ever with a ps3, when the games get bigger...(Rage for example) you will never need bluray disc, you will never hook it up to a HDTV (HDMI) you wouldnt download games off the psn when you dont have 60 bucks to spend...you say they put in loads of features but they are features you will end up using sooner rather than later.

I can't get a real form of broadband (satellite internet FTL, but far better than 28.8 dial-up!), I don't have an HDTV (and probably will not for many years, my 27" Panasonic works fine, and I definitely don't want to spend a large sum of money for a smaller TV simply so it looks better). I'm not interested in Blu-Ray movies, Linux (I hate it), or any multimedia functionality since my PC is *far* better for media playback.

$600 Was way way too much, I'll admit I was not too happy about it, i eventually caved and bought one for $600 - it was worth it for me. that's why everyone really threw it in the gutter last year. Now that more people have PS3's not so many people hate it. It really is a nice piece of hardware.

That certainly is not me.  I won't even consider one until I am absolutely sure that the RROD and disc damage problems are completely and utterly resolved.  Not a moment sooner will I consider one.

Possibly cause of Sony fans starting threads like this. Or threads like what if the ps3 was $199.also how can you suggest ps3 is cheaper than 360. If a car is sold for 100,000 with all sorts of things fitted in that you don't need or even want and another cost 50,000 but you can by all sorts of extras but the only one you would really need would raise the cost to 70,000 which is cheaper?

Also there's hatred to sony for their arrogance of people would get two jobs to buy a ps3 or we will sell with no games. Or the guy last year that said show me a ps3 in store and I'll give you 1000 dollars or however much it was despite the console being readily available

Microsoft and Nintendo are angels, while Sony is the devil.

Some people still live in 2006-2007, but most have gotten over it. Some still ignore it because of it's high price, but actual hatred of the system has been reduced to people that will hate Sony because it's Sony. There are always fanboys that feel a need to hate a company and try to spin any good games on their non-preferred console as bad games.

I strongly dislike MS as a company with their monopolistic practices, but I still got the 360 to play some of the good games like ToV.

People are jelous its as simple as that. If you cant love the console then you have to hate it becasue you cant love it.

There's much more hatred on the 360 in this site. vgchartz is flooded with sony fanboys, at least, they are more vocal than MS and Nintendo fanboys (just check how many people still write M$. It's so 90s, but they still do it because they hate MS).

On the other hand, aside from MGS4 (which came out 3 years after Sony first promised the moon for the PS3), PS3 is just potential. Sony has been selling potential, not actual games.

People keep saying 360 will be more expensive once you add everything, and come to think of it, how many mass market users will add everything? They are the same PS2 owners who bought a console and paid extra for a memory card. They aren't the one who play on PSN all the time, they just buy guitar hero and some casual games, exactly what MS is targeting. Do you expect them to pay for a wireless network adapter?
