it's rather simple any sane person would rather have 1 console to play the games on that 2. Plus the PS2 has the largest amount of games on any console.
I have a PS2 but it's 4 years old and hardly runs anything. This would be awesome.
I have a 40GB PS3, I'm guessing it would work on that, too.
But the PS3 will only be able to play NTSC, right? My PS2 played both...

PS2's are shoddy pieces of crap that break down very eaisly?
Better 1 PS3 then 4 PS2's followed by not being able to find a used PS2 10-15 years from now.
^ some versions were garbage, while others were very good.

I hope its true, that is what is keeping me from getting a PS3
BC is very cool. I don't particularly like having a zillion consoles hooked up in my home theatre. Clean is nice. ...and that's why I have a 60GB PS3 (well... 320GB now) and my PS2 sits in my home office, on a storage shelf.
Software emulation is better right? Yeah, I'm for the idea!

Why would you want to buy a used PS2 in 10-15 years?
And the PS2 compatibility is a bonus. They want PS3 games as well.

Well yeah. I know cause i'm on my third or fourth. There were lawsuits about how shoddy a piece of hardware it was.
The software was great... but until the 360 came out it was hard to imagine a more poorly put together system.
My Balley Astrocade works, my NES works, SNES works, PS1 work and gameboy still work... yet i've went through a bunch of PS2s.
Why would i want a PS2 in 10 or 15 years? To play PS2 games. Duh.
If I get a PS3 when planned that's actually going to be the lionshare reason for the purchase when i get a used one.
Other then Valkrie Chronicles there aren't any must have games for me. LBP maybe, if i don't go with a PC version of the genre that gives you a lot more freedom. Bladestorm maybe, just because i want to see what that games like... then... eh...
Disgaea 3 is i ever get through Disgaea 2, Gig and the World Eaters, Phantom Brave and La Pucelle Story.
That's it really from stuff out and coming out that i've seen. Until the SRW PS3 game gets a confirmation anyway.
