LBP will pwn all.

I will be buying BioShock PS3, so it'll at least get one sale. ^_^

You'll probably need to buy a PS3 before you buy the Bioshock port...

Ehh.. why not buy it for the 360? You know.. the console you actually own?

honestly i don't see the issue. LBP is going to be more of a legs seller not day-one. those who are not internet whores (like us) probably haven't even heard of LBP.

The two ps3 owners i know gave me a blank stare when i asked them if they were getting LBP and and even blanker stare as i tried to explain the game to them. anecdotal i know but i'll stand by my statement - internet hype doesn't equal shit in sales.

Well, in UK LBP seems to be getting a big push with TV ads aimed squarely when parents/kids would be watching.  I have two sons (12 and 8) and they are their friends are waiting for one game right now, and that's LBP.

In the end if LBP does really big numbers it won't be down to interent or informed gamers, it will be because Sony manage, via advertising, to get enough kids wanting LBP and their own Sackboy.  That's why it has big potential and Sony would seem (from public comments) all to aware of it.

The big question right now, with a tough economy, is will parents of kids who want this who don't already have a PS3 pony up for one to keep the kids happy?  And can advertising convince kids they want this more than what they probably already think they want a Wii for?

For hardcore games internet hype and reviews mean a lot - for this kind of game its about reaching the audience outside that demographic (as you say) and from what I've seen Sony is at least trying to do so with ads, etc.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Im buying LBP Bioshock (demo rocked) And Far Cry2 day 1 .
