And if you don't know what Cave Story is, it is a game that plays similar to a 2D Metroid game. They even have a Metroid sound effect in the game. The game also has a great storyline, and you can level up your weapons in a RPG inspired way.

If you are wondering why a free game will be re-released for a price point, it's because the Wii Ware version will feature new exclusive content only for the Wii Ware, or at least that's what Nintendo says.

I've been hearing great things about Cave Story and I am glad that S&P2 is getting a US release

Wow, good for the guy that spent years making cave story. That game is insanely bad ass, I highly recomend it to anyone, and it's free on the guy's site. Insanely awesome game. It's silly that you can pay for it on wiiware or get it for free on your PC (and any PC can play it, it's like an NES game). But I don't think that's the first time that's been done on wiiware.

I agree. It's such an awesome game, and that guy worked so hard on it, I'll probably shell out the 5-10 bucks to support him. And apparently (from the rumor mill) the wii version will have exclusive content.

The game does get new exclusive content, but I agree it is kind of silly.

Hopefully the exclusive content will make it worth it, but I know I'll pay 5-10 dollar for the game either way....

I will get the WiiWare version but because I couldn't wait to play the game, I downloaded it on my PC just a couple of minutes ago and am about to go play it.
