It all comes down to opinion in the end, but fact remains most people would say the 360 library is better than the PS3's.

I second that. Absolutely ENOUGH said. |
Well what I see is that:
Total PS3 games 70 + and above is equal to 205 equal to 95 Percentage of all PS3 games
While Xbox 360 games above 70 + are 370 which is 78% of all the 360 games
so PS3 games on genral and overal score more than the Xbox 360 games with only 9 games below 70+

You keep saying that, but it's blatantly false. The truth is there isn't a single game that fits that description. You listed two "examples" in your earlier post, but both games scored mid-80s on both systems. There is only one game where you could even try to make that argument: The Orange Box. However, it didn't score lower on the PS3 because it was released later; it scored lower because reviewers thought it was an inferior version. (I realize some owners of the PS3 version think the reviewers are wrong about that, but that's not the issue.) There are some games released later on PS3 that scored a bit lower, but none of them scored 90+ on the 360. Yep. Bioshock could eventually be the first one. We'll see. That said, most of your other points have some merit. Some of the high-rated 360 games have multiplatform sequels, which reduces the value of the earlier versions. Some are XBLA games, which are a bit of an apples-to-oranges comparison. Then there's the big one, which you didn't mention: many are console exclusives - also available on the PC - and not true exclusives. That last one is important for anyone who plays games on a high-end PC, but doesn't matter much to the majority of gamers. I think he didn't mention it, because it's a bit off topic. *looks at title* It's all about 360 vs. PS3. You could add it in general, but since you can't play these games on the PS3 the whole "high-end PC"-thing doesn't matter. If you go through the Metacritic/GameRankings lists and manually remove multiplatform games, downloadable games, and games with multiplatform sequels, you'll find that 360 still has a higher-rated list of console exclusives. If you then remove PC ports, the list of true exclusives is pretty comparable between the two. Be my guest and look at my last post on the first page. I only listed games which aren't on both the 360 and PS3. I removed XBLA/PSN titles and games with multiplatform sequels (but just sport games and GHII, cause their basically the same game every year) |

That's totally right and very impressive.
But the fact, that you have the choice which game you want to buy and not forced to get every game makes your percentages useless.
Example:
I could buy 370 games and you 205 games. Now who would have a better library at home ?
I dont even want to touch this thread. People are getting flamed for stating opinion, and people are also getting flamed for showing facts. Its a lose, lose people.

I actually have lists I made myself a few months ago. Personally, I'd remove all the PS2 games you have listed - even ones like Bully. It's true that the 360 version is the best version of those, but honestly, I don't think those games are going to matter to most people - and I say that as a fan of the 360. Including them just makes the 360 list look padded, and less impressive as a result. As for 360/PC games, that's a whole different matter, and a bit off-topic.
@ Lord N , Spot on .
I personaly find the PS3 games to be more to my liking however the 360 does have gears of war which I really want ,both consoles have really great libaries and XBOX 360 is real cheap right now so I suggest you PS3 owners pick up an arcade at least. I can't say because of my opinion that the PS3 has a better libary , it's all subjective stop being stupid guys.
| Lord N said: Using Metacritic is stupid as it's nothing more than a rating system based on opinions. There is no objective standard by which to determine whether or not the games of one console are better than those of another because one person's idea of what's good, bad, better, and worse does not encompass the entire world. A whole lot of opinions put together doesn't equal fact, either. |
....if using Metacritic is stupid, because it's nothing more than a rating system based on opinions, then that would have to mean that the opinions themselves are stupid, because obviously, if the opinions weren't stupid, any rating system based on their worthiness would have to contain some merit. Sooooooooo....if, like you stated, those opinions are in fact stupid, than not a single game out there is good or bad, they must all be equal when compared to each other. Right? That must mean you don't have a favorite game, or a game you despise... you like them all equally. If you don't, if you have favorites, than that means you have an opinion with some type of value... and that my little friend, is what Metacritic is...it's an overall weighting system for all the individual opinions out there. If there are more favorable ones, it adds 'em up and contrasts them to less than favorable ones. Becuase no definitive standard exists to measure the worth of games with any type of sientific accuracy, "There is no objective standard by which to determine whether or not the games of one console are better than those of another" we're left with the only other option...the accumulative value of objectivity, weighted both positive and negative.
Thank you..thank you, no really, please....yes, thank you...I know..thank you....... what?...Oh, that's sweet thank you.....

No the average of many opinions is a group of opinions. Doesn't make it fact.
