I swear I've seen this thread before... that's creepy.
The Wii can't really get much slimmer, but the 360 and PS3 I'd say by end 2009.

I personally really wanted the NES 2 (it was just smaller and toploading) because I had read it was more reliable (no artificial resuscitation required.)

My first thoughts too.
i don't think the Wii can get a lot slimmer!!

I doubt that the Wii will get a significant refresh before its successor arrives. It might get some new colors, but even that is difficult to tell for sure at this point. As long as people are willing to line up in front of stores for hours on end to get the Wii just as it is, Nintendo is going to let them, and it's starting to look like that could last for the rest of this generation.
Rumors of some kind of 360 relaunch have been circulating for some time now. While a new model may or may not actually be smaller than the current one, there will probably be some changes to the case, both to allow for better cooling and to cement the idea that this is a new model.
Who knows about the PS3? There will probably be something at some point, but to be honest I'd have thought they would have tried this already.

DS lite, Gameboy pocket, Gameboy advanced SP :P But yes, no Ninty home console |
The NES and SNES both got redesigned models, though only the NES showed any significant improvement (the removal of the ZIF mechanism made it more reliable).
There really haven't been any significant redesigns of Nintendo consoles since then, though. New colors have come out from time to time, but not much else.

There will be a slim model for the 360 in August09. They will sell it for more than one year untill the next Xbox will be released in November 2010. By that date, the 360 would be 5 years old. MS will support it another year before they strictly focus on the Xbox3.
Wii won't get smaller, why should Big N do this?
PS3 needs to get smaller. This will be a big point for Japan. so i guess November 2009.
Imagine not having GamePass on your console...
