I remember somebody making a joke thread about Nintendo re-releasing GC games.  I remember it could have been a good idea, since plenty of GC games are hard to find and it'd be a good way to sell more games...I didn't think Nintendo would really do it though.

I think its a good idea as long as the new features are worth it and at a decent price. Meaning nothing over $20.

I doubt new features will be included.

How about new controls? That's the whole point. We've been screaming for Pikmin Wiimakes with IR controls instead of analog controls for years. I'm serious.

Is there any accompanying news from Nintendo regarding how they plan on allowing a purchaser to buy a 1.2 GB game to be stored in _________? The blank should be filled in with some substantial enlargement of storage capacity.

They're gonna let you run software directly from SD cards, after a new Wii update in spring 2009.

Did they mention online distribution? If they did i missed it. I just assumed they meant re-releasing key games to retail.

Yeah definitely on a disc. I'm so excited to play Pikmin again with IR controls. They should remake Killer7 with IR controls at some point. I can't stand analog sticks now.

Yeah I've been off watching Cinderella Man and I come on here and this was the first thread I saw. I didn't realize the conference was on. I am thoroughly impressed by everything I'm hearing from Nintendo. It sucks this had to be done in Japan first, because watching a live stream of these announcements would have been epic.

So it's Pikmin on disc with new controls then? No, DD? Very interesting. Luigi's Mansion, Mario Sunshine and Metroid Prime would also be great shoe-ins for this.

I think that new controls are speculative at this point.

But damn would I pay good money to get a Metroid Prime trilogy with Prime 3 controls.
