I think that people like to interpret things a little too much. Just because the Gameboy right now is being left on the hook doesn't mean that in the future the Gameboy franchise won't be revived.

What many people ought to do is add a Game boy tag to DS and leave it that way.

Nintendo has always been successfull. This isn't just some new out of the blue thing... Nintendo has dominated Japan plenty of times, so I don't really how Nintendo has just recently became successful.

Nintendo as a whole has not always been the most potent video game company.

So much of the software on the DS isn't game software but instead aimed at training and other interests, so calling it "Game" doesn't give justice to the systems scope.

It can do so much more then the GameBoy was designed to do and it's aimed at a far wider audience.

I wonder how many people would of taken notice of the DS if it was called The Gameboy Extreme or even GameBoyDS - they might of just said "ahh another gameboy...." and ignored it.
