So much of the software on the DS isn't game software but instead aimed at training and other interests, so calling it "Game" doesn't give justice to the systems scope.
It can do so much more then the GameBoy was designed to do and it's aimed at a far wider audience.
I wonder how many people would of taken notice of the DS if it was called The Gameboy Extreme or even GameBoyDS - they might of just said "ahh another gameboy...." and ignored it.
"..just keep on trying 'till you run out of cake"
