Forums - Sony - Bleszinski: I hate the dualshock, I love the Blue-Ray

"I prefer the 360, I like the controller"
It sounds like something a nine year old would say!

Really, there is nothing wrong with the PS3 controller once you are used to it. The Xbox controller is the second worst controller design possible (other than the wii) with its black and whit buttons. The 360 copied the R1/L1 from the PS2 controller, moved the analog sticks around and claimed it was better than any other controller on the market.

What a retard.

Anyone is entitled to their opinion but anyone who says the Wii controller is the worst is in serious need of a reality check.  Is it the best for every genre, no, but to say it is the worst outright is ridiculous and shows a total lack of experience with game controllers and lack of knowledge of game history.  The Xbox copied it's R1 and L1 from SONY, oh reeeeaaallllllyyyyy?

Wow! I have never had an issue with any controller before. Do I think they have room to improve? Of corse, but I have never used a controller that sucked, and I have been playing since the NES. As long as a controller does what it is supposed to do I have no issue. For people complaining about a controller, please consider the fact that your skill level may just not be were you want. This is just like in sports, every bat, every golf club, every tennis racket, or any other object in sports. Every one of them is just as good at doing the job, if you suck money will not make you better only practice.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

FYI people - The Xbox 360 has a new D-Pad design coming out. Its currently being used in some limited edition release and it'll probably end up in the main controllers sooner or later.

Tease.

D-Pad on Dualshock 3 Pwns. Esp in Tekken. Disoltude and Dark Requiem i'd hate to hear your Complaints about 360 D-Pad

I have complained about the 360 D-Pad several times before. The 360 D-Pad sucks. Thankfully I know that when the 720 comes out MS will actually design a new controller instead trotting out the same tired barely passable design. Choosing between the 360 D-Pad and the Dual Shock D-Pad is like choosing between a kick in the nuts and a punch in the gut. If I had to choose I'd pick the punch in the gut but I'd rather experience neither. BTW Joysticks pawn D-Pads for fighting games. The closest D-Pad to a joystick was the aforementioned Saturn D-Pad.

In a sea of "well I like this..." and "my prefference is this"...its good to see someone knows what they are talking about.

The best Street fighter players in the world (alex valle, daigo...) have stated on few occasions that the saturn dpad is the only Dpad that comes close to an arcade stick.

dualshock 3 is hell of a control but prefer dual shock 2 abit

but the best controller since ds2 :)

I love how everyone is forcing their opinions on people that actually like the controller.

Most people here think the GC's controller was godly, I thought it was terrible, I love the Playstation controller though, but guess what?

Im not forcing people to have the same opinion I have, because that would be selfish and ignorant.

So in other words, not everyone has the same opinion.

Having owned a 360 and now a PS3, I and everyone I know prefers the PS3 controller.

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."

Obviously one can like any controller they want. However if you want to be the best player in a world in any fighting game, you will not use the ps2 pad. Simple as that...

People at that level have stated saturn pad is the best pad to use if for some reason you can't use an arcade stick.

Best controller = best suited for you to win.

Has nothing to do with prefferences.

Holy shit he was so drunk! You know Mel Gibson spilled the beans when he was drunk about how he hated jews and wasn't even thinking? Same thing. The truth just comes out.

"YouR opinion is WronG!!!"

Personally I find the 360 controller more comfortable to hold in certain games. Same with the PS3 controller, but realistically what's the difference between them...only difference is that the dpad has switched places with an analog stick big whoop! They both have shoddy dpads which everyone should agree to. You ever get blisters playing Street Fighter 3rd Strike for an hour? Yah it shouldn't happen if I had my arcade stick, or a saturn controller as disolitude says.

Keep in mind that Cliffy B works on Gears of War which would play better on a 360 controller. Why? Cuz it's a TPS having the movement analog up higher feels much more comfortable for a game like Gears. The reason for this is because you're going to use the A button sprint/roll a lot moving the thumb up to the level of your left hand feels more natural, than moving the thumb higher to the X button and pressing it down to sprint (remember while sprinting you still need your left hand to controller the character, on a PS3 controller the right hand would be higher and puts a small amount of tension on your hand). Another reason is because the left analog stick is higher it allows easier access to the left trigger (harder access to the left bumper a button i'm not sure what it even does...) which is needed unless you love to blindfire.

There's also the issue of the active reload. Why is it better for the right analog stick to be lower than the left? Gears requires your right hand to be able to hold the right trigger down and let go when you need to reload to press the right bumper. By placing the right analog stick lower a player's hand doesn't feel cramped when moving the index finger up for an active reload. The small size of the bumpers also contributes, the 360 bumper clicks down a lot faster allowing for easier and more precise active reload compared to the PS3 whose R1 button needs to be slightly depressed more. Also since the button is smaller the amount of force needed is less once again making it more natural and also easier.

Keep in mind I am a violinist and when it comes to hand tension, most people don't even know they are tensing their hand muscles, tension is actually used so you don't FEEL pain from putting your hand in an unnatural position.(also results in you not knowing that you are doing something wrong with your hands)
