Forums - Sony - Bleszinski: I hate the dualshock, I love the Blue-Ray

From Videogaming247:

Gears of War 2 dev lead Cliff Bleszinski is a nice guy. He’s also in charge of the creative side of one of the most powerful entertainment brands on earth. At a recent London press event for the action sequel we got to drill the developer on the game, his views on PS3, how much graphical power’s left in 360 and tons more, all of which you can find below.

http://www.videogaming247.com/2008/09/29/bleszinski-on-ps3-i-hate-the-fucking-controller-i-love-the-blu-ray-player/

Note also this interesting reaction from a PS3 Fanboy (apparently):

"I think he’s on drugs!!! what and idiot, hate the control,go fuck ur self idiot i love gears of war but to make a stupid comment like that,is just retarded."

Possible development from EPIC for the PS3 ???

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

well hes entitled to his opinion.

i will differ with him, im much more comfortable with the ps3 pad

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

Just check out the thread after the opening comment and be thankful that these boards aren't like that.

For the record i never liked the Playstation controllers that much, specifically the analogue sticks, but my best mate thinks they are the best thing ever.

He's entitled to an opinion if he can justify his choice.
"I prefer the 360, I like the controller"
It sounds like something a nine year old would say!

Really, there is nothing wrong with the PS3 controller once you are used to it. The Xbox controller is the second worst controller design possible (other than the wii) with its black and whit buttons. The 360 copied the R1/L1 from the PS2 controller, moved the analog sticks around and claimed it was better than any other controller on the market.

What a retard.

What's wrong with it? Okay so he's not going to answer that question but seriously. Just saying you hate it is a bit odd. I bet he never owned a Playstation or PS2.

*Reads numerous comments below the first one on the link*

I personally could think of nothing worse then swapping the left analog stick with the D-pad, if those gamers want that, they can go back to their 360s. To me suddenly all fighting games and racing games would be awkward to play. No point whatsoever if changing a winning format.

Hmm, pie.

Why do we need a thread every time he says something? He's a wanker.

I also dislike the dualshock 3. The triggers are shitty, the controller is too light and small, it doesn't fit the natural shape of the hand, and the analogue sticks can be uncomfortable to use, and their dome shape can sometimes make it harder to use them.

/rant.

I hope you mean the sixaxis, the Dual Shock 3 is much heavier now that they've finally added rumble. I'd rather not see the Dual Shock 3 be even heavier.

That aside, the guy can have his opinion, but I don't really agree with it. I can go from a Sixaxis/Dual Shock 3 controller and play on the Xbox 360 controller without much hassle, he needs to not whine about it.

man some of those comments posted at the end of the OP link are nuts!

anyway, I'd like to see the R2/L2 triggers have more of an indent in them. stops my damned fingers slipping off when things get a bit sweaty.

Saying that though, I cannot think of a perfect controller design, so i''ll let the manufacturers and their study groups do their job without whining at them too much.

Theres just no way anyone can please 100% of the people 100% of the time, no matter which company they are.
