Is resistance 2 going to be a bigger system seller or Gears of war 2? Personally MS is going to go all out on Gears of war 2 advertising, advertising it in cinema's, billboards and TVs. So yeah Gears 2 is in my opinion going to a bigger system seller.

I don't think either will be an MGS4 or Halo 3, but I'm going to say Gears of War 2. More people played it the first time, and there are more people who have heard of it.

 I think that Gears 2 will outsell or thereabouts equal sales of MGS 4.

I don't think either one on its own moves consoles much. They are both nice additions to the respective libraries though.

This could change pending reviews. And some huge Gears hype could move some - but that's the ads and marketing more than the game, I'd say.

resistance 2 its going to move more hard ware.

gears 2 will sell more software yet by 1-2 millions difference.

Resistance 2 will sell more hardware units, Gears will sell a bit more in software units. Who wouldn't have bought a 360 for Gears of War 1, Halo 3, Bioshock and all those other shooters? And don't tell me that the poor are going to buy lots of Xboxes, they can get a Pro for $199 on ebay instead of the arcade. We have already seen what the price drop has given, 71k on the second week when a timed exclusive and a big multiplat get released. The userbase difference should give Gears an edge, although I think it will be closer than you think because many people are skipping the 360 version to play it on PC.
