Why can't a ''realistic'' looking game on the Wii succeed in many ways? Why can't High Voltage Software try to create something that mixes both artistic (alien weapons, alien environments) and realistic (buildings, locations, weapons) style of graphics? I don't get why it is so bad to try to break down the wall that some Wii developers can't compete with other console shooters on the market. What if the Wii can change it's image of what it is capable of, meaning it doesn't always have to be about ''kiddy'' stuff (I don't hate my kiddy stuff though! =P)? No one answered that question yet, and I'm eager to hear you guys' reactions about it. |
Well the more realistic you get, the more some people will complain that it's too boring and not artistic enough. Many of us would prefer to see different worlds or different artistic representations of our world in videogames, rather than just a game that tried to look as close to our world as possible.
That being said, "realism" and being "kiddy" are in no way connected. MP3 was not realistic, TP was not realistic, No More Heroes was not realistic, and those would hardly be considered "kiddy" games.
I have nothing against The Conduit, and I've been waiting eagerly for it, and I'm sure there are many great artistic features in the game, but those screens you showed seemed a little lacking.
