Forums - Nintendo - The Conduit's textures look bad? Let's break this myth.

Suddenly all Wii owners care about grafix how ironic. All the textures seem pretty subpar to me but The ones in the Conduit look a bit better

Everyone cares about graphics.  Visual is a large part of the experience.  It's just some of us are a little less shallow than the rest eh.

this game rocks, and it's graphics do so!!

it may not be exactly Xbox360/Ps3 but it's close (not the screens, the game in motion)

personally, i think, as long as Wii can produce MP3/Mario Galaxy graphics there should be no complaining about graphics!!

if you use the component Wii cables on HDTV you'll notice that those two games have graphics much closer to Ps3/Xbox360 than Ps2!!

Conduit will sell a lot!! over 1 million for sure!

No its not close.. stop thinking it is.

Also if  you think running the wii at 480p would help on a 720p tv, then your seriously wrong. Trust me.

Or maybe you could pick a launch title (because we all know that launch titles have amazing graphics).

I think this OP did a good job at showing that pure technical grahpics don't matter, and that art style and visual creativity is way more important, even if that wasn't what he was trying to prove.

Who cares how the textures look, really?

I agree with Okey - The environmental textures look kinda dull, Ive seen better environment textures in Metroid Prime 3. I know it can be done.

That said, everything else looks good, and it slightly reminds me of TimeSplitters, and that's my fav FPS series ever, so I'll get this game and live with the textures, though hopefully they'll improve =) When is this game releasing again?

Wow those graphics on all those screens seem terrible, like an XBOX game.

Wow

or a PS2 game... anyway graphics doesn't matters for my part. Gameplay is more important and to be honest those graphics looks good.

I agree, and the Conduit is all about gameplay, should be one of the best games on the wii this year.

I'm a little bit tired of PS3 fanboy who claims that the graphics of this game are ''terrible'' sure they're not HD but instead of saying things like it looks like XBOX or PS2 graphics, you can admit that they're pretty clean in comparison of other Wii games. And to all other fanboys who spit on the graphics of this game don't you have realized that this gen is all about gameplay? 95% of the consumers really don't care about graphics but instead want fun games and this is why Wii and DS are so popular in comparison of PS3, PSP and X360.

Metroid Prime 3 looks really amazing on my TV. Those screenshots look nothing like the game.

I think The Conduit will look good, but I doubt it will beat Metroid in the graphics department. Metroid Prime 3 looks better than Resistance in my opinion.

Why can't a ''realistic'' looking game on the Wii succeed in many ways? Why can't High Voltage Software try to create something that mixes both artistic (alien weapons, alien environments) and realistic (buildings, locations, weapons) style of graphics? I don't get why it is so bad to try to break down the wall that some Wii developers can't compete with other console shooters on the market. What if the Wii can change it's image of what it is capable of, meaning it doesn't always have to be about ''kiddy'' stuff (I don't hate my kiddy stuff though! =P)? No one answered that question yet, and I'm eager to hear you guys' reactions about it.

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Watch my insane gameplay videos on my YouTube page!

I think that Conduit is NOT suffering from bad textures, because they're very good from a technical point of view... but it's suffering from what happens to many games developed by small developers and some third parties: Lack of a great artistic direction.

I dont claim anything, actual fact the graphics according to those images are terrible.

For a Wii game, the textures look okay but compared to other games of today they truly are horrid. But that's just how it is with the Wii hardware so I don't see the point in arguing about this, really.
I don't think anyone bought the Wii for its graphics prowess tbh (at least I hope so).
I thought The Conduit looked way better the first few times I saw it, seems like the visuals have gone slightly downhill to me!
