Go Christmas!

 I agree with you.

it is highly possible this price cut on 360 might kill off ps3 during christmas.

This is the second full week of the price cut, so 71k is a shame. That's not even 50% more than it was before the cut (50k). I don't understand those xbots saying that the 360 will beat the PS3 WORLDWIDE because of another FPS for the Shooterbox (Gears 2).

It is not nice to insult members of the site.

On Topic: 360 has improved in sales with the price cut in America and is positioning itself for Oct-December Xmas sales quarter.

Considering it was losing by 50K weekly prior to the price cut. I'd say its great. Plus with Gears 2 and Fable 2 it will beat PS3 for the holiday season. Plus PS3 is the best blu ray player and still doesn't sell alot. Also I remember PS3 has had $200 cut from its orig price and is still dead last. Thats bad

Also remember PS3 is the most expensive console and that Xbox360 is the cheapiest

THEN you understand +25k after a WW price drop is VERY BAD.

Yeah, some effect. Almost back to pre-price drop levels in America.

Japanese sales fell hard from last week.

And it's still losing to PS3 in Others.

And the PS3 is still losing WW even though its had $200 cut from its orig price and its the best blu ray player.

Wow.

Still living in 2007 eh?

So in 2007, it WAS the best best Blu-Ray player and HAD a $200 price cut? And in 2008 its not? then what IS the best blu-ray player, and what is the price drop since launch now? Because i've been kinda wanting a Bu-Ray player for a while, and if there really are better ones for cheaper out there...

Blu-ray player?

Aside from being the best BR player, it also has at least 10 games that I very much want. So, again, still living in early '07?

 ==> yeah, as it killed PS3 during the clearance sales this summer.

Middle of october : PS3 > Xbox360

Note that I consider it is possible for Xbox360 to outsell PS3 this Xmas
BUT, RIGHT NOW, sales are disapointing.

(Rockband2 exclusvity+JRPG+WW price drop ==> 150k LOLLLLLLLLLL)

(IF PS3 gets a 100 euros price drop then ==> PAL 150k, NA 130k, Japan 40k ...)

It's just a slow week the 360 will sell 85,000 next week!

If it's mearly "a slow week" then why did 360 numbers fall 20,000 while PS3's (The much more expensive system) numbers only fell 5,000. PS3 had zero exclusive releases in America during the week in question. 360 had 3 including Rock Band 2 at the very beginning of the week. Next week, 360 doesn't have a single exclusive release yet you think it's going to do better then this week?

I'm sorry, but the 360's falling sales are due to the fallout from the price-cut two weeks ago. Furthermore, 360 doesn't have another even relatively major exclusive release in America until October 21st, when Fable II is released, but by then the PS3 will have already passed it in American weekly sales with the releases of NBA 09: The Inside, SOCOM: Confrontation, Eternal Sonata, BioShock and LittleBigPlanet. It's only going to get worse for the 360 from here and anyone with eyes can see that.
