So are you liking Sony less and less too due to all the fanatics this site has? I think there's actually more of them than Nintendo ones here. Also notice the 360 fan that just popped his head in. Either way, it isn't worth it, there are idiots on all sides, so you'll just end up hating gaming in general.

Sales all play their role in where games go. I think it's worth caring about, not to mention interesting.

1) its interesting to see the slaes of the different consloes .

2) if the console you bought dosent sell well less games well come to it.

3) Also its good to see how the industry is doing everyone on this site is a gamer and just wants the industry to do well and grow=)

Because we are interested in it and support a console like it is a team. We are happy when it wins and unhappy when it loses

OT, but a reply to some people: I think PS3 is the best console, but I will admit that the 360 has better games. PS3 is far in second, though, with Wii bringing up the rear.

I have been thinking that a lot lately; that as absurd as everything that goes on here is, its an order of magnitude less stupid than much of what goes on around professional sports teams (which are just corporate entites themselves).

I know where you are coming from because of how much fanboy hate goes on here...at the same time, though, I think you should accept that any video game/console sales tracking website will always be like this.

Last gen I cared because the GC got bugger all 3rd part support

Growth of the industry - spreading video gaming to others
Nintendo doing well, and thus the console I own has lots of 3rd party games I like
Seeing really well made games get the sales (and $) they deserve
