Guess you haven't been watching sales for a while. The PS3 has been outselling the 360 WW since Oct 07.
It's surpassed it in JPN, and is very close to over taking it in OTHERS. The 360 is in the lead because of a year headstart
which got it some good time to get firmilar with the devs. America is what's keeping the 360 ahead of the ps3... it's head start did some wonders, i'll give it that.

360 IS WAY MROE EXPENSIVE!!!!!

360 only has 3 cores, so to get an equal value of PS3's 9 cores you have to buy 3 360's.
Price: $600

BLU-RAY! Gotta have a blu-ray player or you are left behind in technology wasteland
price: $200

360 has expensive hard drives!
Price: $129

Live is expensive, gotta buy that too for 5 years (life of a generation)
Price: $250


360 doesn't have Home so you need to buy a PC to play Second Life
$1000


Wifi adapter because cables are last-gen
price: $99

GTA IV is same on both consoles
Price: $0 (since its same price)

360 plays GTA IV in 720p HD, Ps3 doesn't, so you need to buy a HDTV for 360
$2000

MGS 4 is GOTY, so you gotta play that and it only works on PS3
$400

Total cost:
$5,000 (including shipping & handling and best buy warranties)



PC + Wii owners unite.  Our last-gen dying platforms have access to nearly every 90+ rated game this gen.  Building a PC that visually outperforms PS360 is cheap and easy.    Oct 7th 2010 predictions (made Dec 17th '08)

If you think the 360 is cheaper then the ps3 your crazy. It's optionally more expensive. If you just want a 360 it's 200, if you just want a ps3 it's 400. No one is forcing you to buy the extras.

If you think the DS is beating the PSP solely because its' cheaper then you fail on an epic scale. PSP has more to offer HW wise and with the system itself, but it's competing with the DS as a handheld gaming device. And in terms of games, the DS has more than double the PSP's library size. And in terms of handheld gaming Nintendo easily has brand recognition on it's side....
