No, I don't think so.

Actually I just checked and Zipper had up to 200 Employee when Sony bought it.

Mmm, a darkcloud 3 for ps3 would be so many levels of awesomeness, but still this is just a hunch but i have a feeling WKC will be better then a DC3, again just a hunch...

Btw, Level 5 now has a big relationship with Nintendo now looking at all those DS games, and likely Inazuma Eleven Wii and Ninokuni Wii. I doubt they'd just go, and Sony wouldn't attempt a hostile takeover. At most what Sony could do is just throw some money at Level 5 for some games, which is pretty much what they're doing now anyway.

They don't really have a relationship with the company.  Their games just happen to be successful on a Nintendo platform.  It's not like they worked together with Nintendo to make these games.

And if you notice, all their BIG projects are those funded by outside sources (their ps2/3 games and Dragon Quest).  I'm sure they wouldn't mind having the means to invest heavily in all of their games.

Of course, I don't think Level 5 will be bought anytime soon.  But if Sony were to go after an RPG developer (and they do have a tendency to go after developers that can fill weak areas in their lineup), Level 5 would be their primary choice.

What games does Level 5 make. I'm not a huge fan of knowing companies and being worshipers of game companies but rather of just games I like. That why i get pissed when people say Nintendo let us down or square enix is milking ect. I couldn't give a shit about over 2/3 of nintendo's games so how is them making wii music or others let me down. They are still making Zelda and others i like.

SO again what games do LEVEL 5 make, that make them worth buying to be exclusive for Sony?

Have they even worked with Sony? I mean when it comes to actual development, not publishing.

Also, if their games are successful on Nintendo systems there's no reason for them to want to be bought. Better to have successful games on Nintendo AND Sony systems, no just one right?

Also, pretend Sony needs some RPGs, I think they'd go for smaller studios (not too small obviously though) and not big companies.

What Sony SHOULD do they is form their own RPG studio. Gather some members, don't actually buy a company or studio. Make a new RPG studio altogether. Maybe gather a few key members but that's it. After that, have them make RPGs. Have them make multiple RPG teams, not just one, to work on different RPGs at once.

I really don't like Sony's games AT ALL but that's because the majority of them are like...shooters (which you know I don't like). Sony need to make RPGs. That would be so awesome.

What you don't like Team ICO games *Is Deeply Angered*

I haven't played a Team Ico game I heard their games were really short though and I can't buy many games a year so... =/

Well I suppose they are rather short.

Though Team ICO games are complete masterpieces. They're better than ANY games that have come out on the DS/PSP/PS3/XBOX 360 so far and their 3rd game will most likely be one of the best Games on the PS3(in terms of story anyways sicne that's where they really shine). Team ICO games are classics. They're the true masterpieces of gaming :)

If anything Square Enix might eat level 5 up....they are looking for things to eat up.

I actually think that Level 5 would rather be bought by Sony than Square-Enix.

1. Have they even worked with Sony? I mean when it comes to actual development, not publishing.

2. Also, if their games are successful on Nintendo systems there's no reason for them to want to be bought. Better to have successful games on Nintendo AND Sony systems, no just one right?

3. Also, pretend Sony needs some RPGs, I think they'd go for smaller studios (not too small obviously though) and not big companies.

1.  They paid for development, so I'd assume they had some producers making sure that their money was being well spent, as well as some developers on scene to help Level 5 get the most out of the platform (particularly for WKC, their first ps3 title).

2.  So far, only the Layton series has been successful on Nintendo platforms, and that's most likely because it's (arguably) their best series yet.  Also, they had to pay for development of Layton themselves, and you can tell they didn't put much money into the project.  It's quite apparent that they don't put much money into any of their own titles.  Having Sony pay for development of ALL their titles would probably more benefitial to them than the potential of good sales on the DS, because it would allow them to invest just about as much as they could want in each of their games, even if they don't all sell gangbusters.

3.  Level 5 is still pretty small by most standards, and Sony has had no qualms about picking up somewhat larger studios in the past.  Someone mentioned Zipper which had nearly 200 employees at the time it was purchased, and when Sony  bought Evolution Studios last year, they also picked up it's child company, BigBig Studios.  These weren't the smallest purchases they could've made.

4. I agree, but Sony hasn't really formed any internal teams since the ps1 days (when Team ICO, Team Siren, etc. were formed).  I'd love to have Sony make another team though.  It would just be troublesome finding the talent to staff it.  Most great developers have made a name for themselves through their work with other studios, which is why Sony buys studios now.  They already know that said studios can create great games.

5. Bah.  They never really focused on shooters heavily until this gen (to compete with MS, which is why I think they'll start going after JRPGs now), and even now they hardly make up a majority (though there is an alarming amount of them now  0_o).
