So you're responding to trolls by trolling? And this is coming from the guy who made a thread asking whether anyone can REALLY think that the PS3 will still be the top hardware seller. Maybe you should stop posting until you find out what you actually know about.

I thought he was just commenting that if the Wii was last gen, it's still not changing the fact that it's outselling all the other home systems.

 I'm taking the "wii is last-gen" claim at face value, and am analyzing it from a historical context, which makes the 6th gen pretty amazing, and the 7th gen pretty sad.

Apparently millions of others here have done the same thing (even though I can't find their threads, any help?), so I guess it's not recognized as trolling or counter-trolling.

So many attacks on the opening poster. I don't see what's so wrong with him starting this thread. What is wrong is bitter fanboys saying Wii is last gen.

I actually liked this one. Instead of the usual "Wii is last gen, go cry Mario boys" type thread, Frybread brought up 6 valid state of the industry points to give a more logical viewpoint on what exactly being a last gen console would mean.

Trolling? Not really. More like shooting other trolls with 6 tranquilizer darts.

At worst it's a best-of the 6th gen in terms of processing. It has the Gamecube's efficiency (powerful parts that are inexpensive and power conscious), the Xbox's speed (as has been proven by the numbers on the Processor chips), and the PS2's flexibility (the extra processing units allow more flexible effects that the PS2 used with its vector units*).

It's just not a total best of because it has less internal memory than the Xbox, and it has the Xbox and GC's combined memory, but not combined with the PS2's total memory.

Okay, there is the Dreamcast, but adding any from that system would just have been icing.

* If the incompatibility issues had not gotten in the way, it could have nearly matched the othe system's in terms of graphics.

Don't mind Montana. In his native language "I like the Wii" is tantamount to trolling.

He's not trolling though... he came up with factual points to counter trolls saying Wii is last gen, cause by saying the Wii is last gen, then it would mean it's setting records as he has pointed out lol... so the only thing that could be even be close to trolling/flaming is calling the trolls "trolls", and calling a troll what he is is stating a fact not an insult =P

Really lay off the guy he's made a good argument here and has some interesting points to say the least, could be a very good thread if people don't come in and ruin it by flaming him...
