If we go by the ratio of failure/success Valve and Blizzard are currently sitting at 0 while Nintendo is above that, not more than 1 that's for sure, but above that 0. It takes a lot of hard work to constantly make top-nothc innovative games and Nintendo has failed before. Don't get me wrong, I have a Wii as well and my love owards it is second only to my PC, but again I'm just calling it as I see it.

Oh, of course Valve or Blizzard has so few (at the moment, 0) failures - they're much smaller, so they make very few games. Nintendo needs to pump out tons to support their systems, so there are bound to be some bad eggs in the batch. I was only arguing that Nintendo has easily revolutionized the gaming industry scene much as (or more than) Carmack(id) / Newell(Valve).

You may want to go revisit the early work of Blizzard. Rock and Roll Racing was god awful.

You mean Blackthorne, and the Lost vikings as well? All those 3 games were awesome. Especially the Vikings. That game just pure hilarity.

I haven't played Blackthorne as yet so I won't comment. I enjoyed Lost Vikings, but the 2nd one wasn't what I would call good. Death and Return of Superman had some serious issues as well, but I love the genre so I enjoyed it. I love everything Blizzard has done since Warcraft 2, but they had a rocky start.

Ah, of course. I discovered them with Warcraft II (I was only like 8yrs old then after all), so I don't know much about their pre-Warcraft days, though I've heard of Lost Vikings. Well, what really counts is their no-failure streak ever since they got big.

Oh man I didn't even know they had Lost Vikings II, it has to be tried out!

1. Konami (Suikoden, Winning Eleven, Metal Gear, Silent Hill)
2. Sony Computer Entertainment (ICO, Shadow of the Colossus, God of War, Gran Turismo)
3. Atlus (SMT, Persona, Tactics Ogre)

Wasn't it Quest that developed Tactics Ogre and Ogre Battle, with Atlus just publishing?
