I think Brawl will be snubbed by Wii foeboys running most of these sites, and I think R2 will make the rounds, but not end up on enough lists(about half) to be considered a "universal goty candidate."

It's gonna be MGS4, GTAIV, LBP, Gears 2 and Fallout 3.
There will be other contenders, but these are the only ones that really have a chance.

I knew I left one out, lol.
Anyway, there is a one in a million chance that a game like Fable 2, Mirror's Edge, Dead Space, R2, or Fracture could come out and be a surprise AAAA game, but these odds are very, very slim. Also, again, Brawl gets snubbed because it's a Wii game by Nintendo. If it was called Super Twisted Metal Brawl on Playstation 3, it'd be virtually guarnteed a win.

I dont think anything we have seen thus far this year compares with MGS4. It did receive 10/10 from both Gamespot and IGN, so I doubt we will see another one of those this year.
I think Gears 2 will get rated really harshly, but through no fault of its own. Much like many sites were unfair to PS3 games last year, the same thing has been happening to 360 games this year.
I wouldn't be suprised to see many 8/10 for Gears 2, just because the popular thing to do will be rating Resistance 2 higher.
Fable 2 has every chance if it is as good as the previews imply.
If however, the parts of the game Molyneux hasn't shown us are not close to the quality of the parts he has, or the story is not as good as he claims, the game will falter.

I don't know what you're an about with the Wii thing. Mario Galaxy and Zelda won more GOTY's than any other games released in their respective years.
Brawl doesn't deserve to be nominated. Neither does GTAIV, but everyone knows it will be.
