Forums - Sales - The Truth About Too Human vs. Haze threads!!

Don't be fooled, these Too Human vs. Haze threads are just a poor attempt to hide the first real bomb of this generation which was Lair..

Let's compare

Ratings
Haze - 55 Metacritic  http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/ps3/haze?q=haze
Lair - 53 Metacritic  http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/ps3/lair?q=Lair

Sales (based on VGC numbers)
Haze - 410,000
Lair - 350,000

Budgets (Looking for Development cost, any help would be appreciated!)
Haze -
Lair -

Now keep in mind that while those sales numbers look close, I believe that Haze performed a lot better then Lair due to the PS3 having a bigger game library then when Lair was released. EDIT: Lair performed so badly in the PAL region that Vgchartz wasn't even able to record any sales for the game!!

So why are people comparing the 2nd biggest bomb instead of the 1st biggest bomb to Too Human? Is it because of fanboys trying to hide the fact that the game even exists? Is it just another case of SSMS? Or, what I believe, its probably just because Haze is still fresh in our minds.

Simple error or fanboys trying to hide facts, it doesn't matter... Just remember, next time you see a Haze vs. Too Human thread, the only response from everyone should be Lair.

Because it would be tough to believe the two biggest flops of the gen were both on the PS3.

It's ironic when you examine the game's development history and realise that Microsoft will probably break even on their contribution.

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

1. Lair doesn't have any PAL numbers, so it probably sold a lot more than Haze.

2. Too Human had a massive budget.

I think the best comparison is Lair VS Too Human. Both had big budgets and disappointing sales.

So Lair did so bad in PAL that it didn't even sale enough to be recorded? That's horrible... I'm going to edit the OP

It's a system flop comparison.

It wouldn't make sense to compare Lair and Haze because they're both on the PS3.

Xbox 360 flop Too Human vs. PS3 flop Haze.

In the end, though, Too Human probably lost a lot more money

fanboys flamebait here.
the whole thread!

Lair also had a huge budget.

I'm trying to find those figures for both games to put in the OP

I had a nice reply all nice and typed up and everything, but what's the point. Not like you'll see the truth. We'll keep living in la-la land where Too Human is not a flop in the same vein as Haze or Lair. It's entirely realistic that Too Human will not pass Haze in terms of sales. Last week Worldwide was 30k, and this week looks to be between 15-20k, and lower and lower as the weeks go on.

What's worse? A game with a metacritic of 55 selling 410k units, or a game with a game with a metacritic of 65 selling the same amount of units? It'd seem to me that a game with a higher metacritic selling thee same amount of units as a game with a lower metacritic is more of a flop. That's just me though.

Haze was a flop according to reviews, but was an average FPS in my opinion. It's not a game worth spending $60 for but it is certainly a worth playthrough for a rental or a $20 budget price tag. I mean the nector thing is pretty cool.

Too Human was considered a flop to reviews because of its repetitive gameplay exeperience or with some reviews the controls weren't as polished as some expected considering how long the game has been in development.

I would say they are flops because both games had sooo much development time and they did not present themselves to the community well. So as a result they are flops or failures in the eyes of some games. But in my eyes they are average, well somewhat good games.

Lair was a flop considering its controls were horrible to get along with. Sony knew this and so did Factor 5. That's why they fixed it with a patch that aloud people to use the analog sticks rather than the SIXAXIS controls. It's just Sony failed to advertise the game again to the consumers that they fixed it.

Well the hype for that game was high, so again its a flop to consumers and a flop to me also. This game also had a lot of development time and it failed to deliver.
