Forums - Nintendo - Question to all Nintendo fans.

I will go Vertigo-X one step further. If Nintendo did not exist, it is highly unlikely that video games as we know them would exist. Instead, we would all be playing on PCs.

Now, if the question was more akin to if Nintendo pulled out of hardware after the GC like Sega did after the DC, that is a tougher question.

Originally, I probably would have said PS3. With backward compatibility and blu-ray, it would be great to have. But BC is gone. Meanwhile, Microsoft seems to have finally gotten it right (or close) with its latest system revision. And its combination of JRPGs and casual games make its software seem to be to be much more well-rounded than the PS3.

I am Mario.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

I'd be dead, silly. :3

Well, lets say DS bombed and they tried to replace it with GBA Ultra, but PSP had XXm unit install base when GBA ulotra came out. GBA ultra had 3D control stick and GC level graphics or something and came out 1.5 years later than PSP. So PSP has about 65% market share...

And lets say Wii was a DISMAL DISMAL failure and had 9M install base at this time and had the same weak lineup this fall, minus force unleashed, guitar hero, rock band, Little King's story. So Wii had wario land, ToS2, Animal crossing and Wii Music basically.

I would have the same as now, a DS PSP Wii and Xbox 360. Only difference would be I would have more 360 and PSP games and fewer Wii and DS games.

Which ever console was winning because it would have all the games.

Nintendo still doomed?
Feel free to add me on 3DS or Switch! (PM me if you do ^-^)

ball and cup or is that cup and ball

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

I'd just play on my PC. Xbox and PS are cheap knockoffs of the PC, at least in the games I'm interested in so I just won't have a console.

Seeing as I am a 50% Nintendo, 25% Sony and Microsoft, I win...

I wouldn't be playing video games today if it weren't for Nintendo.
However, based on current generation, if Nintendo disappeared, I would probably have to switch to Microsoft, because they really do have a lot of high quality software.
