Forums - Nintendo - F-Zero GX

So I started playing this game today, I just beat Force Unleashed and was looking for something meatier.

I bought it a while ago but never had time to really dig into it.

Hot damn is this game ever hard, nothing is easy here.

Im not even far into and its already kicking my ass.

Anybody got any tips?

Practice.

No, I'm serious, that's all you can do.

Practice.

Edit: You'll find that you get much better at the game as you go on. For example, there is one mission in story mode (6 or 7, I believe) in which you have to escape a building under a time limit of 50 seconds. After trying for half an hour, you'll barely squeak through with less than a second to spare, and think that the designer were sadistic to give you so little time.

On the next difficulty setting, the time's been reduced to 45 seconds, and after an hour you'll find that's enough.

Then you try the third time, at 40 seconds, and you start to feel that the previous two really WERE over-generous, because you've gotten so much better in such a short time period.

In conclusion: Practice!

Hard? You don’t say… I never completed the first track >_>

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

Try again.. and again... and again.. and again.. and again.. and again.. and again.. and again.. and again.. and again.. and again.. and again.. and again.. and again.. and again.. and again.. and again.. and again.. and again.. and again.. and again.. and again.. and again.. and again.. and again.. and again.. and again.. and again.. and again.. and again.. and again.. and again.. and again.. and again.. and again.. and again.. and again.. you get the idea...

I heard that Rol is pretty crappy at this game.

Hmmm, the best tip for you is try to memorize when to use the Boost effectively in each tracks. Also, don't Boost before hitting a Boost plate, otherwise you'll be wasting your HP for no reason, rather boost AFTER the plate as much as you can. And in story mode, if you want to do the Very Hard difficulty, simply memorize the most effective paths to take in them. Watch out for the Tunnel Escape, this one can be a bit tricky. Other than that, the rest is just all about keeping a perfect distance between the racers, don't go too far from them, don't go to much behind them (when the opportunity is there, Boost to victory! xD).

F-Zero GX is the best arcade racer out there. Amusement Vision did an amazing job, honestly, and I doubt anything else that Nintendo makes about F-Zero can top this one. Unless Nintendo makes the next F-Zero Wii with 30 racers online... Believe it!

Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

turning in this game will make or break you. Practice drifting, and use your boosts wisely. and like noname2200 wrote, practice.

This was the best racing game i've played last gen, next to Project Gotham 2.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask is the best Zelda title ever made.

"The Person Who Got the Closest to Winning the 1st VGC VC Giveaway, but still lost"

Thats the game that made me sit in the corner cry like a lil girl after couple races. But yea do like Aaliya's song "Try Again" dust yourself up and try again and again and again .....

I used to use Samurai Goroh and a sometimes useful technique if you are down by a few too many points in a GP heading into the last race is simply take out the opposition. It's not easy at first but if you have a heavy car and with a bit of practice you can take out the top 3-4 guys without too much trouble. (and the CPU is kind enough to highlight them for you)

Besides that, just practice. I read a review when the game came out, it might have been Gamespot, which simply said, some people will have the skills and reflexes for this game and others just won't. Which one are you?

Don't listen to Rol:

You can complete everything in the game with the Blue Falcon, that's the racer I've used since the beginning of the F-Zero series anyway! Captain Falcon for the win! xD

Feel free to try them all though, but the best overall racer is always the best in racing games anyway (unless you want to do Time Attack runs...). But when you get the AX racers, I suggest you try the Rainbow Phoenix. It's a good equivalent to the Blue Falcon.
