The World Ends With You was a really wondefull game for me.
Playing DQ IV, I noticed, the names of a lot monsters changed like Pokemon.. I don't know why but I'm going on the adventure and the game's is quite good.
I like the Russian and Scottish reading

I decided not to buy this game after knowing this, I don't want to give them the impression that we're fine with crippled product... unfortuantely I know this will have no effect because most people don't know or don't care about it.

That's kind of shallow, isn't it?

@celine

You hate the accents?  Because from what I know, using this accent method seems to be make the localizations of JRPGs better for some reason.  Look at Chrono Cross, that game used the same method and many praised it.

why not just up'd the rating?

and yeah, Link?

Accent translation is horrible. What were they thinking?

Party talk removed is stupid from what I understand FF IV DS has a party talk thing and they didn't remove that.
The party talk feature seen in DQ VII and DQ VIII was fairly neat although IV is like VII's you could even talk during battles.
The game takes 10 months for translation and it not even fully translated and then the dialogue is hacked up with accents.

Okay and they removed the puff puff part its not that big of a deal for a game things like are almost always edited.
But DQ VIII had the puff puff so why remove if from IV?
Especially because the game is 2-D your not seeing anything.
The strip dancers in early FF games weren't removed in later versions.
Why remove the sexual stuff out of DQ?

Not a suprise though everything that Akira Toriyma seems to even touch once it hits USA soil its edited and censored his Dragon Ball manga edited all over the place. And Dr Slump even more edited. Why would you even release a sexual and toilet humor manga just to edit it? UGH.

Really my biggest problem with this game is the accent thing.

Well, they try the all American accent thing but most of the time, the English JRPG VA is deemed terrible because of that.  Beside, the accents really add to the experience IMO.  It makes the game feel more immersive.

She's not going to provide a link.

As a matter of fact, this thread was just her knee-jerk reaction to what someone must have said on another board.

She even acknowledges about four posts down that she didn't know anything about it.

Perhaps a calmer version of this thread would have been better.
