Forums - Microsoft - Can you recommend any titles for XBOX360 that aren't hardcore?

Disc Based, not Live! please.

See my wife bought Timeshift and it turns out she doesn't like it.  I do but it's "her" game.  So with 7-day return policy I've got until Sunday to essentially demo + it.  She admits it's a very interesting game, and the visuals really are quite stunning! but it's a little to hardcore for her.  I guess this is where the intuitivness of players who aren't gamers are over-looked by the developers.  This is where I can see that perhaps it might not be such a good idea for game companies to create soley for "us", because to those who weren't "born gaming" it can be a pretty steep learning curve.

I'm posting this thread because I doubt that she will.  Her attendance on this board HAS been lacking lately.

I'm tempted to press her to get Eternal Sonata (cause it's on my list, but right now it is behind Fable II, Galaga Legions, MK vs. DC, Guitar Hero WT, and a couple other titles so I can't get it myself anytime soon).  So if SHE gets it.....

Any suggestions?

It doesn't need to be all that basic, and she likes M rated games (you all probably knoe that) so no restrictions there.  Just something thats not too intimidating structurally and/or assumes you can pretty much figure out the functions without it bieng explained.   Thanks

My GF has enjoyed the following games:

- Viva Pinata
- GTA4
- Lost Oddysey (so maybe going for a JRPG is good call)
- GH3

Dead Rising. It's all you need

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Guitar Hero and Rockband...

Yeah we Have Guitar Hero III for Wii.
On that note: I'm having a dog of a time trying to decide whether or not to get World Tour on the Wii. I figure since I already have the III Guitar far it that'll give me an extra/backup. I think the DLC is supposed to be matched for the Wii version as well. Maybe if the Lips Mic is compatable and sturdier/better than GHWT it could be better to get it for 360. I just don't knoe damnit. One thing for sure I'm not gonna pre-order this one!

Looks like Viva Pinata seems to be a picker. Is it a continuation of Sambe De Amigo? Or are the just similar in art style? Does it follow the earlier title's story?

sambe de amigo completely different game series. there is a new viva pinata out, and its got some great new features that make it more casual if you wish or tradition like the prior game. the co-op is a nice addition.

If you mean easy to pick up and play but has depth then I recommend these to start:

Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise
Kameo

Eternal Sonata/Tales of Vesperia/Lost Odyssey - they can get hard later in the game.

I know you said disc-based but you cant go wrong with Braid as well!
