Right now, it's being live blogged:

Ooh, Miyamoto just acknowledged that there may be other uses for the Wii Board like snowboarding.

Wasn't Nintendo's E3 like over already? I thought it ended the minute Myamoto stepped out of the Balance Board.

But I like this one. Supposedly Myamoto said that "Nintendo's press conference was geared more toward a general audience, tonight he wants to talk a bit about a more hardcore experience: Super Mario Galaxy." Who would've guessed, hein?

Anyway, Fishy, you seem to be on top of things. I couldn't watch the Ninty thing at 1pm PDT today. You know what that one was about?

Are you talking about the death interview? I think there was a bunch of stuff on Kotaku about that.

A: Given we announced the Wii Balance board yesterday, since then we've had a large number of inquiries from companies. We've also had a great deal of interest from the physical fitness industry. While we were finalizing the design we were in talks with medical hospitals and rehabilitation centers. So I think there is a lot of potential.

That's what I thought would happen. A deal with, I don't know, 24 hour fitness (American company) would be huge.

That would be a new source of revenue stream for Nintendo. A joint venture with a fitness company. Fitness software that are designed to make the experience less onerous. Think about that.

EDIT: If successful, it really will turn the Wii into a staple consumer product, like the iPod.  There is nothing like that on the market at this point--making workouts fun.  It is a much better excursion for Nintendo than say venturing off into cell phones or some Apple collaboration.  Whether it's Miyamoto or Iwata's leadership, this is great news.

the Wii is an epidemic.

Apple partnered pretty successfully with Nike. I could see Nintendo doing something similar.

I was talking abut the event that gamespot had scheduled for thursday afternoon (http://e3.gamespot.com/live.html?tag=event_nav;live). But maybe that was a gamespot thing, not a general press conference.

We should start agregating news somewhere. I'm getting all sorts of different stuff from different sources. Nothing really major, but things like: Reggie saying there are no plans for a DVD Wii in America (he doesn't know about Europe or Japan); or Myamoto saying we haven't seen the last of Pikmin, that the Wii is perfect for it, and that Mario&Sonic may have one-on-one sword fighting.
