Should Nintendo release the Wii 2.0 and the DS 2.0 simultaneously?

I mean, in the same year.

Why? Makes no sense really. If they are staggered they can focus on bring out a strong line of titles for the new system and let 3rd parties take the lead on the older system.

No, It's not profitable.

Go buy Metroid OTHER M!

Wii code: 6775-1034-2238-1634

Nintendo's first party game studios lack the capacity to mass produce high-quality titles for two platforms concurrently.

That is why they do not co-ordinate simultaneous releases of handhelds and consoles, and will not in the future.

 You're correct.

Nintendo are now (unlike before) mainly focusing at one machine at a time.

DS was 04-06 was DS.

06-09 will be Wii (probably)

And then they'll focus on their next handheld, slowly "forgetting" the Wii.

Btw Starcraft, you've been saying surprinsgly many (very) smart things lately.

no they won't...

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

GBA and GCN released in the same year, It didn't turn out as well in terms of sales to surpass their Predecessors.

I agree with the rest here... the only way it would make sence is if they somehow worked together as a combo... but most people don´t want to dish out that much money at once (including games it would add up) and as mentioned its better to focus on sofware for one...

Does anybody think it will be possible with internet connections becoming faster and more global that in the future you could stream games from you console or PC at home to a handheald device ??? You could start the console via remote and it would stream the information of the game right to your handheald... would be damn cool...

nah they will focus on one at a time like they always do, exept for GBA and Gamecube.

No they would divert attention from each other.
