That, and also the spam "Congrtulations. You have just won a free (insert product here). All you have to do is click here to get your (insert prodcut here)".

It's getting rather annoying. If this is what's generating revenue to make the site better, then by all means, use ads.....but the current ones are getting ridiculous IMO

For those who have been keeping up, we have recently signed a deal with Giant Realm to start showing proper premium exclusive game ads. This is obviously the way we want to go - they generate more revenue and are not intrusive and in-keeping with the site. Whether we get more of those ads or not depends on how the current ones perform and 90% of the ads at the moment are US-only.

What I am aiming to do is move all of our remnant stuff away from ad networks so as to get rid of all the embedded popups and so on that their ads are riddled with.

In the meantime please help me by pointing out specific ads that are causing annoyance (if possible try to locate where they are coming from) and I can work to get them removed.

I got a better idea, pull all the ads you put up in the past week, because that's when all these annoying ads came about.

As far as I am aware, the only ads that you should get that are not in a normal banner position are game ads - currently crysis, viva pinata and fable 2 which are floating ads (as well as banners) - but capped so you don't see them often and hopefully not too intrusive.

All other ads should just be simple banner ads, not talking, no sound, no auto-playing, no taking over the screen, no breaking anything and hopefully not particularly annoying. On your first few page views you should get nice game ads, after that you will get more normal ads but i have spent a lot of time going through them to remove any that are annoying.

If you see an ad which deviates from this, please inform me - admin@vgchartz.com with a screenshot if possible and it will be removed.

I get an ad from IMVU.com about 3d chat.. and it keeps sayin: HI I'M AMBER.. WHATS YOUR NAME?? She talks!!
