mario kart is a casual game. are you actually suggesting it isnt...or have i misinterpreted what you said?

When did MK become casual. I remember playing the SNES MK and I don't recall my family that wasn't into games liking it. Oh wait it's casual because it sells to everyone. game insecurity :P

I wouldnt neccesarily say this, but a lot of people might say its casual now because it has less depth than previous iterations.  The controls are more accessible tho, definitely.  In Doubledash it took you had to actually do alot more to be competitive.  MKWii still takes skill and time to learn, but the amount of inputs you use has been decreased significantly.

Really its a bridge game which makes it count as both casual and hardcore (so it really does sell to "everyone").

I don't understand any of that, MKWii has a lot more depth than MK64 (and Double Dash to a lesser extent)

Also what do you mean by "amount of inputs"? You mean the features of the game? If so MKWii has added many things to the mix from DD, without taking out anything other than the dual characters and the character specific items.

Strongest console pulls off strongest software sales, news at eleven. 360 owners might dump more money on games but eventually the userbase pulls its weight.

Current-gen game collection uploaded on the profile, full of win and good games; also most of my PC games. Lucasfilm Games/LucasArts 1982-2008 (Requiescat In Pace).

4 ≈ One

Mario kart has always been a strong franchise, add the wii into the equation and the success of the DS version and I think it was pretty obvious that it would outsell halo 3. Not that halo 3 is doing poorly :P it is shaping up to be the best selling in the franchise.

A better question is when was it not casual? The game has always been very casual. It's always been a very assessible game.

Not that that is a bad thing.

Awesome, Mario Kart Wii is one of the many underrated games that deserves to sell better than critics think it should.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Why no Wii Play. Sold at retail just like every other game. I mean I understand Wii sports but Wii Play exclusion makes no sense.

Anyways yes they are the best selling and actually MK Wii is selling so fast it's one of the fastest selling games of all time. And it hasn't even hit a holiday season like some of the fastest such as GTA: San Andreas and Halo 2 and 3. Impressive ain't it.

I think due to Wii Play being packed with a contoller, It  does have an unfair advantage over every other game.Think about it,if Gingerbread Man came with a free controller it would be a multi-million seller today....:p
