Forums - General - How long did it take you to learn to drive?

In BC, you have to wait a year till you can go for your novice class, which makes 17 the earliest age to get it. :(

I just got mine almost a month ago, and I think that practice will make or break you. It won' t take long for you to get reasonably comfortable, but in order to pass that road test, you're gonna have to drive like a saint.

good luck.

btw: getting your license doesn't mean jack if you don't have a car, so make sure you get one before you pass.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask is the best Zelda title ever made.

I took my learners test on my 16th birthday. Took the drivers test 2 months later and received my full license. At the time you had to wait a month after getting your learners. I waited two months. That system is gone now. Graduated licensing has replaced it. Learners lasts 1 year followed by some novice class which is followed by your full license.

18, don't have my license, don't plan on it anytime within 2 years.

Depends on what "driving" is. If you mean moving the car around, a few hours were enough. To actually drive safely in all kinds of roads, it took months.

I was 16 when I learned automatic. Took me 2-3 weeks. I learned standard right after I turned 18. That took me about 2 weeks. I don't drive standard much though, so I'm not very good at it.

Not trying to be a fanboy. Of course, it's hard when you own the best console eve... dang it

eww... standard sucks.

I leaned automatic over the course of two 45 minute classes over nine weeks.

I still can't parallel drive, and I've had my license for 4 years.

It took me about an hour to get the hang of stick, but I had been riding motorcycles since I was 8 years old. Those are a lot more difficult to learn to shift than cars.

4 years... and I still haven't passed

The earliest you can get your provisional here is 17!

And to sum up, 3 months and still going...
