Forums - Sales - Predictions The PS3 will not lead again in NPD Again this year

Predictions 2 and 3 are a little out of touch with reality. Ps3 will continue to beat x360 in japan and LPB is going to be the biggest or the 2nd biggest ps3 title this year. The game is over hyped and expected. Hell, I want one, and this isn´t even the type of game I like(I´m trying to convince my sister to get one, so I ´ll have an excuse when people ask). Even if it´s not so good, it´ll get at least 1mln on the first week.

so this game will out sell mgs4....???

No one mentions LBP but hardcores, i've pushed the game on my message board quite awhile now, general reaction is just like erm with the casuals...Its one of my most wanted to play PS3 games, but i think Sony and alot of Sony tools are fooling themselves. This game isnt GOW big

LBP will be niche at best. Pack it in with PS3 since i predict PS3 wont have a price cut till middle next year.

I really think 360 has reached a turning point in Japan, its at an impulse price even for Japanese. It has a staple of RPGs the ps3 doesnt have yet.

For PS3 i predict Good sells broadening of software porfolio, continued bluray growth and online improvements for the next year

I agree about the XB360 surpassing PS3 sales, only due to the price cut. LBP Im on the fence with. I can't find the appeal, but that's just from my gaming preference. I don't know whats on the horizon for PS3 software in Japan, so its hard to see which way that battle will go.

I was curious, as if the PS3 were to take a significant hit and force to drop price, what that would do to strengthen the Blu Ray market. I wonder how many people out there with PS3s are using the Blu Ray tech too.

Thanks for the LBP links btw

Just when making future predictions try to state why you think this. I know you stated why in later posts. I agree with everything but the last. I say 2 weeks, I don't see the 360 boost lasting 3 weeks.

In Japan... we'll see but I don't think so.

How many cups of darkness have I drank over the years? Even I don't know...

Well i know 3 weeks isnt going to be easy guess we'll see

I'm not really in the habit of making predictions since almost losing a friend when i predicted the Wii would become the number 1 console, before everyone had launched. Apologys if some felt not enough backing for the predictions, thought that was parfor the course on this board :)

you are wrong, ps3 will outsell 360 in NA for most of the year and all of next year. BAM!

Respect for compans: SONY > NINTENDO >>>>>>>>>> MICROSOFT

I predict all three of your predictions are wrong.360 price cut has been in effect for a while now, still no huge change. I just love how all these sites are putting headers up saying "360 outsells PS3 for month of August(Sept?)" when what it should say is only in america. The PS3 is still outselling it worldwide with no visible change in sight. The PS3 has more going for it this christmas as well. Multiple Exclusives as well as a few games that were thought to be exclusive to 360 a year ago.
-Little Big Planet
-Resistance 2
-Socom Confrontations
-Disgaea 3
-Valkyria Chronicles
-Motorstorm PR
-HOME open Beta
-Killzone 2 beta
-Life with Playstation
-Bioshock finally coming to PS3
-Eternal Sonata finally coming to PS3
-Alone in the Dark finally coming to PS3
Multiplats
-Fallout 3
-COD5
-Mirror's Edge
-Dead Space
-Star Wars The Force Unleashed
-Guitar Hero World Tour
etc(too many to list)

Sony is also revamping their sku's with 80gb PS3 for 400, 160gb PS3 for 500. 80gb standard system, nothing extra. 160gb comes with Uncharted, download voucher for Pain, and rumored BC (again). Sony may lose a month and a half at the MOST this Christmas. After a small victory for 360 it is all Sony's show.
