Forums - Sales - Wii will be hard to find even during the holidays?!?!?

Nintendo is cocky

It's ironic that a Sony fanboy would critisize Nintendo for being cocky...

"The first 5 million bill buy it, whatever it is, whether or not there are any games"

Their official company stance, coming from the highest levels, is that poor people should get a second job to buy the PS3. It's that "Americans are cheap", and they suggest their consumers are idiots. At least Nintendo doesn't disrespect their own customers and then blatently lie to them time and again.

"The PS3 will launch in March, 2006 world wide."

"There are no plans for a price cut." (the price cut came the next day).

And right now Nintendo is on top of the world and dominating the video game market like it has *never* been dominated before. There has never been a time when as many hardware units were being sold by one company as Nintendo is doing with the DS and Wii.

I want sony to win this war, if they do nintendo WILL drop out of the market and they will start to develop games for sony or micrsoft

Highly unlikely, since they already made enough money to try a Wii 2, even if this Wii dont sell another unit.

"Wii are legion, for Wii are many"

Why are there so many whacko Sony fanboys?

I think the win can win this war. Kids dont want the ps3 they want the wii.

The same is true for adults: they want the Wii, not the PS3.

I view this almost like a Pixar Movie against a movie like 300. 300 isn't suitable for kids, but it's also not a particularly mature movie that would be intended for adults; it has a very testosterone driven, 16-25 year old male cool cache. Pixar Movies are considered "dorky" or "kiddy" by teenage males, but are enjoyed by both adults and children.

That's certainly how it seems to be playing out. We'll see if that changes.

 Ratatouille > 300

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

leo-j, you were actually doing better than some people til now...

3 day ban.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

IMO, there is no excuse for shortages. When I go to buy a Wii November 12 there better be some in stock. If not, I will consider an insult and total disrespect to gamers. No exeptions.

That's pretty suspect reasoning there. Using that same logic, if there is a hurricane coming and they have been warning everyone for a week on the news that people need to prepare and get all the emergency supplies they require.  So the day the storm hits would you be sauntering to the store only to find only baking soda and creamed corn in stock, then feel insulted that the store owner didn't have anything better in stock?  Essentially George Harrison is telling you that a storm is coming.  Personally I realized this ages ago.  When the Wii was selling like hot cakes after its initial release with no actual games available for the system it dawned on me that if the shortages are this bad when there are no good games, imagine when they actually release some of their heavy hitting, system selling franchises.

I don't think sony had a problem keeping the channel full when the PS2 was selling that much.

Or maybe Nintendo is just running out of Duct tape to attach the two gamecubes together :P Get with the program here Nintendo its not that hard to make 7 year old systems :D

I'm just screwing with you Nintendo fans, but with that stuff aside i still don't see how Nintendo cannot boost sales to meet demand. Is it really that hard to boost sales after 8months on the shelf. Is there some sort of special device that they can't keep in supply or what?

Just one more question for you wii owners, i have heard that you guys can download all the old NES and SNES game or atleast some of them anyways, but you guys don't have a hard drive, so where are all the games stored once you download them. Do you buy memory cards/SD cards or whatever they are called. And how much do these games cost, is it $2-$5 or are we talking about more?

Thanks for the help guys.

The fact everyone likes to convieniently forget when it comes to the Wii is the fact that Nintendo has 2 best selling systems.  They have had to ramp up production for the DS and the Wii to keep up with demand.  Over the last month Nintendo has sold over 2.2 million consoles.  I don't see Sony or Microsoft having to refill the supply chain with that kind of volume.
