No no no and oh god no!

Keep the series in its fantasy Medieval setting please! Dont care how much they change up the formula of the game just keep the swords and castles well anything Medieval.

Oh and NO steampunk! Last thing we need is any relation to FF >_>

Technically the series is already in a mix between medevial and steampunk settings. Examples of the steampunk is the cannons, and steamboats. Well in some games anyway it is somewhat steampunk. The only thing I think the series is missing to become fully steampunk is industrialized cities, similar to that of the late 1800s, early 1900s. I think that would actually add something to exploration, and be pretty nice. You still could keep the medevial aspects, and villages, and nothing much would be changed drastically except for the cities though. It might be a risk, but I know I would enjoy a risk that suceeded, and is an excellent addition much more than the same old thing that is still excellent. If they did fail(which I know nintendo wouldn't because they are good like that) I guess then there is always another game int he series that could take it back to its roots. ALso Final Fantasy VI, isn't the only game that uses a steampunk setting, and you actually notice in the game that it is mostly medevial with the cities being somewhat industrialized. There wouldn't really be anything like Cars, or GUns, or anything else modern in a steampunk zelda. ANyway that is my opinion on the matter.

I would like a futuristic zelda, kinda like Final Fantasy 7.

I like the steampunk version with the character that thinks he is Link better.

My most anticipated games:  Whatever Hideo Kojima is going to do next, Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Gran Turismo 5, Alan Wake, Wii Sports Resort.  Cave Story Wiiware.

@DKII

heh.. thank you.
i'm gladd i'm not tha only one who thinks so.

i also think kratos is tha M+ (Sony) version of Link
hahah =)

but, no.
zelda is meant to take place in a legendary land in an epic good vs evil adventure...
i hope nintendo exaggerate on dark link or even a fierce deity link.
i think it would be a good story to fit all that in there.

since they had made a somewhat dark zelda game before,
maybe they can have a story of a finally matured adult link

I would be cool if they did something like that, but for star fox or metroid.

The thread title is all wrong. It should be "Zelda, in SPACE!"

And remember the major threat in Majora's Mask?

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

I would much rather a Steampunk zelda, or them just sticking with the Medieval setting. Or maybe even a futuristic one that takes place on one planet. Space just doesn't sound good in my Zelda games, and if I wanted to play a game from the same genre with similar elements, with the space setting Metroid is it. ;)

There's always been a little steampunk in Zelda.  Like the Clock Tower, or the Observatory.

Edit:  Apparently you already pointed that out.  >_>

:P

idk, id have my doubts about it.

A new Zelda set in an apocalyptic future where ganon is half ganon (whatever the hell he is) and half cyborg. Yah that would be interesting.
