if you look right now, the NA numbers are not posted and so far, the ps3 is leading by about 40k this week from the Europe and Japan data...that means that the 360 will have to outsell the ps3 by 40k this week in NA to tie it up....do you guys think this is possible?

Possibly... I'd say a 50/50 chance.

360 "doubled" it's sales. The last few weeks 360 has been at 50ishk, that means 360 is at 100ishk.... last week ps3 was at 70k... ps3 needs to have dropped 15% from last week...

One things for certain if Ps3 still outsells the xbox week after week this price drop was a failure.

ps3 should sell 70 thousand in the us and 360 about 110 so its possible

I'd say 360 passes this week and next week, and then probably not until GeoW2.

If it can't, then the 360 doesn't stand a chance of keeping its second place.

I think it's possible if the price cut can raises 360 sales while simultaneously taking away ps3 sales because of people sitting on the fence

it better outsell the ps3.

The only thing that matters is how long the effects of the price cut can be sustained. We won't really know for awhile.

Its def possible but I think its more interesting to see what it'll do in the weeks to come especially the first few full weeks that the price cut data will be compiled. If the price cut happened earlier in the week we prolly wouldnt be having this convo. Nonetheless we'll see what happens.
